Our 2026 service project, Hard Hats Against Hunger has concluded. After 5 days of service, 523 Fortis team members volunteered over 1500 hours of their time to combatting food insecurity in their local community.

This week, every Fortis team member volunteered their time to combat hunger, in our extraordinary service project for 2026: Hard Hats Against Hunger. From picking produce on farms and volunteering at local food banks to putting their construction skills to use in building food pantries and facility upgrades, our teams helped their local communities and had fun doing it.

Last Thursday we gathered at our Portland office for the 2nd annual Fortisfest. With the clients, trade partners, and friends who make our work possible, celebrating another year of strong relationships over great pretzels, Bavarian beer, and a live oompah band.

Every intern’s experience is different, but all of our PE interns spend ample time on site learning from trade partners and team members.
Meet Jaden, interning for his second year with Fortis on our University of Oregon Next Gen project. He’s spent the summer meeting subcontractors in the field, learning scope, and building on what he learned last year.
