Back in stock! ✨🐍 Provent-a-mite™ is the only patented, EPA & USDA approved product specifically labeled for use with all reptiles that has undergone more than 25 years of research, clinical testing and use to insure that it will effectively eradicate mites and ticks that feed on your reptiles. Unlike many other treatments, Provent-a-mite™ poses no potential harm to the host being treated when used as directed. No other product can make these claims!

Provent-a-mite™ is more effective and less expensive to use than other products to eradicate or prevent an infestation, with up to 4 times less required per treatment and is the only product proven to provide long term residual protection. There’s something incredibly special about a Green Tree Python and getting to appreciate them in all their glory before they go through their ontogenetic color change. 🐍💚
Unfortunately, this baby Biak will not stay red forever! As they grow, they’ll begin turning green with beautiful blue speckles. Regardless of their changing colors, they are an absolutely incredible arboreal species to work with.

We currently have 2 in the shop — and 1 has already found a home! 🥹

Ruby was surrendered to us, and after a little convincing from Diamond that he desperately needed a girlfriend… 🤣 we welcomed this sweet girl into the HISSS family!

She’s quickly become part of the crew and loves being around all the action. 🥰

There’s something beautifully symbolic about practicing yoga alongside the serpent. In yogic tradition, Kundalini energy is often represented as a coiled serpent — a powerful life force resting within us, waiting to awaken and rise. 🐍✨

The serpent reminds us of transformation, renewal, shedding, and the movement of energy. Just as a snake sheds its skin, we too have the ability to release old patterns, make space for growth, and step into something new.

Wow. Where do I even begin? 🥹
By the end of the day, I was in literal tears. I don’t think I can put into words just how supported, seen, and loved we feel by our PNW h**p community.

When you’re a small business owner, you never really know what cards you’re going to be dealt. You don’t know if you’ll make it to year one, year two, year five, or year ten. There are days that are scary. Days that are stressful. Days that feel completely overwhelming.

But then you have days like this… and you realize just how incredibly lucky you are. ❤️

We officially made it to ONE YEAR.

12 months of HISSS. 12 months of learning, growing, working, dreaming, stressing, laughing, crying, and putting everything we have into something we truly love.

And when we look back, the biggest thing we feel is gratitude.

We are so incredibly blessed to call Portland home and to be surrounded by the most amazing team, friends, customers, and community. Customers who have become friends. Friends who have become family. And families who trust us with the animals they love most.

We know so many of you by name. We know your pets by name. We know their personalities, their quirks, their stories—and getting to be a small part of their lives is something we will never take for granted.

And I truly couldn’t do this without the team standing beside me today.

Thank you for loving HISSS. Thank you for nurturing her. Thank you for believing in her. Thank you for showing her that even when things get hard, perseverance, passion, and a whole lot of heart will always carry her forward.

HISSS is so much more than a business to us. She’s something we’ve poured our hearts into. And seeing how many people have welcomed her, supported her, and helped her grow over this past year means more than you’ll ever know.
