Jim and Sue with a beautiful plaque for the lucky raffle winner on the Oregon tour. The raffle proceeds support a worthy cause Jim finds on each tour. Created and painted by Doug and Vivian R, the donated plaque is a very nice bonus for all the generous contributions to the cause. Thanks to them both for their time and skills! It really is a wall-hanger to remember the ride!

Normally closed on Tuesdays, The Pines Dine was open to welcome BRNW - very cool and much appreciated by all!

Happy 4th! And, as a co-inky-dink, one week to go for the Washington 2026 ride!

Cynthia G-M kindly shared some of her photos from the Oregon ride, along with some of the Rest Stop crew adventures. From the new 4-porto trailer, to a service call for an errant screw and more, Cynthia gives us some views from the week.

To get a prime spot at Blackberry Campground, our intrepid RS 1 crew camped out, with Joe taking to-go meals from our wonderful catering team out to them.

Crew and vendors are busy setting up camp for the Oregon 2026 tour! So much going on it is hard to know where to start, so let's go with the essentials - DDP and watermelon! Everything a growing Executive Director needs to fuel their day...

And we have the shower truck, camp central, dining canopies, water stops, portos, bike mechanics, sustainability crew, and tent & porter all making it happen.

Lots of other teams out there also - route marking, baggage, camp store, rest stops, our EMT partners, the catering crew, water management and folks doing multiple jobs.

Registration will be open soon. The tour really feels like it is taking off later this evening with dinner and then announcements by Jim!

Some of the many beautiful scenes from Sunday at Bike Camp Walla Walla. Lots of campers, crew, volunteers and members of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation showed up to Whitman College. From getting settled in (dorm rooms for the win!), to the Tribal Arts & Crafts show, dinner at the Cleveland Commons (award-winning dining and set out a wonderful assortment of First Foods meal options), the Drum Group & Blessing, to the silent auction, welcomes and information (in an auditorium with a jumbo screen!), it was quite the experience for everyone.

Thanks to all who worked so hard to make it happen and to Steve Lenz for really capturing the first Bike Camp Walla Walla opening day!

Some really bike-friendly folks at the Inn At Lynden! And a classy place, with Jim's seal of approval (or is it a sea lion? Well, a pinniped of some sort at least). Some nice pics and more at their website.

Related but separate: "Pop quiz hotshot" (reference anyone?) - Lynden is right on the Washington tour route for Friday, July 17. Any guesses what else is happening that day? Bonus points (double the usual) for getting the percentage of USA frozen inventory that comes from this area. Let the games begin - may the odds be ever in your favor.

New ride event! Get your gravel on in Halfway Oregon! Check out their website (listed on flyer) for the other Fourth of July events going on - some fun stuff! Like duck races! I didn't know they could even ride bicycles!
