We had a GREAT weekend serving our community! Brown Hope supported our fourth and final Back to School Giveaway event at Dawson Park with New Direction Community Church.

Thanks to our collaborative efforts, hundreds of Portland youth will be starting school ready to learn! 🎒📏📚✏️✨

Brown Hope donated backpacks and school supplies to support Rose City Jam, Black Men In Training, and Elate Youth. Black community collaboration at its finest.

Brown Hope helped out today with Beyond Tha Streetz’s annual Back to School Community Giveback!

Our mutual aid program donated highlighters, colored pencils, and scissors, and we helped distribute hundreds of backpacks.

Glad to see our children being cared for and supported. It takes a village! ✊🏾🖤

It’s the Last Day at Lloyd Center Mall! The end of an era.

Thousands of Portlanders showed up in, well, typical Portland fashion. Improv flash mobs, drum lines, buskers, roller skaters, and an army of red-clad Santas.

I carry a lot of memories from this beloved mall. Like the time I got my ears pierced at a Lloyd Center kiosk in 2010. I’m so deeply grateful that it’s 66 year legacy was given once last spirited hurrah.

The future of this 1.3 million square feet of real estate is ambiguous and uncertain. Personally, I’m embracing curiosity and change!
