How do we respond when children notice bias, ask hard questions, or experience injustice?

In this thoughtful breakout session, Threads of Justice Collective shared practical strategies for responding with honesty, curiosity, and care. Educators reflected on how we can move beyond silence and create learning communities where every child feels seen, valued, and safe to ask questions.

These conversations aren't always easy, but they matter.

What do children learn about what we value before we ever say a word?

At our Summer Conference, Hannah Chandler, a TPP consultant and Preschool Teacher at The International School of Kuala Lumpur, invited educators to reflect on how our values become visible through the environments we create, the language we use, and the experiences we design.

One reflection from the session stayed with us:

"It's all built on trust. We trust you to use this space and these materials, regardless of how they're 'supposed' to be used."

When our values are visible, children don't just hear what matters, they experience it.
