The Maine Track Club, Wolfe’s Neck Center, Freeport Conservation Trust, and the race director for the Farm to Farm Ultra Run are saddened to share that due to incoming Nor’easter and the uncertainty surrounding the storm path & full impact, the 2026 Farm to Farm Ultra has been cancelled.

We are doing this out of an abundance of caution to ensure runner safety and trail longevity. This early season storm will have high winds primarily impacting the coast. And since the leaves have not fallen, we are at greater risk for downed trees/branches and power outages. There are a number of low spots that could flood or become mud pits and sections that would end up effectively being a slide unsafe for runners, and not great for the land. We are unable to postpone to a new date given the significant amount of local races and location events over the next 8 weeks.

Runners were sent an email last night and provided 4 options for their registration: Donate, defer, switch to virtual, or refund.

Please do not run the course this weekend.

(One time, years ago, I spelled Thursday wrong in an ad. More people showed up for that event. I don't make mistakes on purpose to draw people in. It's just a strange connected data point. I checked the spelling of Wednesday SO MANY TIMES before sending out the email, and then had to check it again before posting here.)

1. Fairgrounds Race is this weekend! Come find the MTC Sunday at a table, check out some neat tattoos, pick up a magnet, and learn more about the MTC. Registration is still open for this lovely 5K that finishes on the horse track - and the MILE Race!
2. Registration is official open for the Maine Track Club Turkey Trot 5K! (shirt deadline will be end of October)
3. The Farm to Farm Ultra Run is on the horizon! Run! Volunteer! Do both!?
4. The Maine Marathon is Oct 4 - registration is still open, but there is a cap, so if you're delaying signing up - this is your sign to take the plunge
5. The next MTC social will be September 16 at Shaw Cherry Hill - run or walk on the beautiful trails, and join us for a delicious spread! (This replaces the boat cruise from the past few years)
