What I chose for my bachelorette party/bridal shower, brunch… A floral arranging class and complete DIY floral kits for all my friends! Petal Icon by offers these beautiful kits for ladies nights, work events, etc. and ours was perfect for this lovely brunch!

We had a very floral lunch on the patio, and due to the 90° weather we came inside for floral arranging. Petal Icon sends you a video with instructions for your particular kit, but you can just use the principles and do your own thing as well! We all had such a lovely time, being creative and making something beautiful, and celebrating my wedding in a way that’s so much more special to me than drinks out at a bar.

I’m so grateful to be surrounded by these incredible ladies and so glad I got to create a memorable afternoon for them!

In case you guys need to be reminded of this like I did… not everyone is good at design or cares as much as we do.

A couple people I know just bought a house and I told them I’m happy to help with design questions, sourcing, etc. So they’ve been sending me some links… It’s made me realize, how do I even start… 🤪 they have a very different perspective than I do. Most of it is not what I would choose or what “good design” principles would teach us.

Doesn’t mean they have bad taste and we should criticize them—but we are in a bubble here in this community. You probably also care like I do about creating a really beautiful, calm, fun home for your family, but some people don’t care or learn about the beautiful part.

It takes mental energy and time to learn a new skill, like all the rules and guidelines we learn about decor to create functional and beautiful spaces. Not everyone has gotten to that point in their lives, or has enough foundation to even start or care.

I personally am so excited by the way I can shape my life and my kids’ lives with our home. Our spaces affect the way we live. I love expressing my love for my family and myself with beautiful things like decor.

So if you also care a lot about your home… I’m so glad you’re here. It is so fun to celebrate this hobby and passion together. ❤️

I’ve seen this joke about shopping but no… For me, is there anything more peaceful than an afternoon to enjoy your home? We are so shaped by our environment, I know that having a calm, beautiful, tidy home makes me feel so much better!
