Latley in life I have found myself in places I did not set out for. In places that are difficult to describe.
Iโve been calling it nowhere. Previously I would probably describe nowhere as another way of saying โlostโ. Now I am not so sure. To me itโs a space
somewhere between โlostโ and โfoundโ. But I donโt feel lost. I am not waiting to be found.
Itโs not so much a void, itโs a location, or a place. I am beginning to believe that wherever I am, there is ground made for standing. And that wherever I am standing is worth learning to love.
Last summer we all sat in a living room, shut off the AC and hit record. Each song was recorded live in the same room with everyone facing each other. Each person brought a special voice to each song in its own way. What we captured is a moment in time that I will not soon forget.
This handful of songs given as an offering to a place called nowhere.

๐๐ต๐ณ๐ข๐ธ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ณ๐บ ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฏ, a single off my my new record: ๐ ๐ฑ๐ญ๐ข๐ค๐ฆ ๐ค๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆ.
Last summer I recorded an EP produced by .skye.guitar here in portland Oregon. I invited a handful of friends to sit in a living room and quietly and thoughtfully play a song or two with me.
๐๐ต๐ณ๐ข๐ธ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ณ๐บ ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฏ is a song that has been close to my heart for awhile now. A song about leaving. About returning.
About making a home within yourself.

A few years ago I began having severe fatigue problems. I would wake up, and my regular routine of making coffee, cooking breakfast, going to work was overwhelming.
My body, emotions, thoughts felt heavy.
Plans were made and canceled. โHey Iโm not going to make it todayโwas the text I sent most.
No amount of rest or coffee would do the trick.
Then the doctorโs visits began. Some said a tumor, another said maybe long Covid. One doctor asked me the week before Christmas โwell, do you want to be disabled for the rest of your life?โ
Blood draws, CT scans and a brain MRI. No real answers.
I was worried.
I was afraid.
I was losing it.
I never did get any answers but I do feel much better, some of the time, most of the days.
During that time my abilities were unpredictable. Some days I felt fine, others I couldnโt leave my bed. I struggle with explaining the inconsistencies of my body that became the inconsistencies of my life.
I never finished this song.
It feels fitting.
