PDXstrength is the premier strength and conditioning gym in the St. Johns neighborhood Johns neighborhood.
We’d like to welcome you to PDXstrength, a strength and conditioning gym, located in the St. We are the number one rated gym in North Portland, and we strive to make every class, positive, educational, fun and challenging. Our Group Strength and Conditioning classes vary day to day, designed to improve strength, power, speed, flexibility, muscular endurance and cardiorespiratory fitness. Our classes are programmed to get you results. One day you may find yourself doing hill sprints, another day back squats, and the next day handstands and pull-ups. We want every athlete at PDXstrength to succeed, whether it is by eliminating pain, losing weight, building strength, getting faster, improving technique, mobility gains or making friends in the community. With PDXstrength classes, you’re not paying for a “place” to go exercise or for the use of equipment. You won’t be mindlessly, wasting away hours watching TV on the elliptical or reading a magazine while you work out. You are purchasing individual instruction, programming, nutritional coaching, as well as personal modifications and development every time you come to class. You will be a part of a warm, smiling, supportive, positive and inspiring community that constantly challenges you and truly cares about your well-being and health. Thanks for checking us out, and hope to see you in the gym!

Beer Mile recap! I was too busy trying to run and laugh, but here’s a few photos that were shared with me! 🖤💪🏽🖤 Our small but mighty gym came together for a great cause, and raised some funds for Jesse. Thanks for your raffle donations, help with running the event and showing up for your support! Love you strength squad!

Welcome Antonio to the team! We are so excited to have your coaching at PDXstrength. Give Antonio a big high five next time you see him in class!
Before stepping onto the gym floor as a NASM-certified personal trainer, I worked as a social worker and earned my Masters in Conflict Resolution. I found that the empathy and relationship-building skills I developed in my past career transfer perfectly into how I coach today. I’m also a certified kettlebell instructor, and I specialize in functional strength, conditioning, and powerlifting. To me, the absolute best part of coaching is watching people dip into vulnerability and completely surprise themselves with what they are capable of. My ultimate goal is for everyone to feel unapologetically proud and strong in their bodies.
My own path to fitness definitely wasn’t a straight line. I used to have a very different relationship with my body, food, and overall wellness & and at one point, I weighed 230 lbs. Today, I live as a sober person, I embrace the journey, and I absolutely love challenging myself with fitness in new ways.
As a proud q***r person, I’m deeply committed to holding space for others and making the gym an inclusive, welcoming environment. When I’m not coaching or lifting, you can usually find me exploring the outdoors, hanging out with my cats, or putting on a cult classic movie.
Don’t overrate intensity and underrate consistency. The best workout is the one you can stick to consistently. There is no need to swing for home runs… focus on putting the ball in play. Little by little you will achieve something big. First class is free!
