Friday was river day with the whole crew! 🌊🐾

Fern, River, Maverick, Kope, and Quinn took Frenchman’s Bar by storm — full sprints, dramatic dives, and approximately zero chill.

Two years ago we brought Fern home, still shattered from losing Daisy and desperate for something to feel okay again.

By the next morning she was limp, silent, fading — parvo, seven days in the hospital, and the kind of fear that lives in your bones.

But Fern chose to stay.

And in true Fern fashion, she’s spent every year since finding new ways to drain our bank account — most recently with a casual knee surgery.

Now she slow‑mo paw slaps me for forehead smoochies like the dramatic, expensive miracle she is.

I’m just trying to play video games while Fern serves her post‑knee‑surgery jail time… and River decides to roll off the couch in SLOW MOTION like a Victorian ghost. I said “what are you doing??” and she hit me with a tail wag like “I’m fine actually.”Does anyone else’s pet commit crimes of confidence while you’re just trying to exist?
