Community Fisheries Network

The Community Fisheries Network (CFN) formed in response to the needs of small-boat fishermen and their communities. We work to increase the long-term sustainability of commercial fishing communities and the marine ecosystems upon which we depend. We do this through rapidly advancing the sharing of experiences and lessons learned, sustainability standards and tools for catch accountability, business methods, collaborative branding and marketing, and cooperative efforts on regional and national fisheries policy. We are a cooperative, peer-to-peer learning network of 13 community fishing organizations in Alaska, California, Maine, Massachusetts, Oregon, and Washington. In addition to our members, the Community Fisheries Network has three supporting supporting members, including the Community Development Partnership, Ecotrust, and the Island Institute.
