Stand for Children is a unique catalyst for educational success and social progress, to create a brighter future for us all
We believe ALL children deserve an equal opportunity to succeed in life. Education is the key that unlocks the door to success. Far too many children, through no fault of their own, aren’t getting the education they need to make it in life. We are passionately committed to righting this wrong. We have more than a decade of experience working together with parents, communities and organizations as partners. Together, we elect state legislators and local officials who will be champions for education. We deliver policy victories at the state level. And we follow through to ensure new policies are effectively implemented in public school classrooms. Stand for Children staff work state by state, community by community in order to make the biggest possible impact.

We’re proud to collaborate with Imagination Library and Imagination Library of Oregon for 9-to-5 Day, honoring Dolly Parton’s legacy, and deep commitment to ensuring all children have the resources and support they need to grow into life-long readers.
Dolly Parton established the Imagination Library in 1995 in her hometown in honor of her father, who could not read or write. Today, this international program has gifted over 330 million books to children in five countries.
None of this work, at Stand for Children nor at the Imagination Library, would be possible without the local organizations, volunteers, parents, educators, and students like you, who work 9-5 (and nights and weekends too) to improve our education system and provide critical support to children and families in our communities.
