Wednesdays are a little different at The Crystal Guide.💜

They’re by appointment, and they’re meant for people who want or need something a little more personal.

Maybe shopping in a busy store is overwhelming. Maybe you need the music low, want your own music, need a quieter environment, or simply want more time without feeling rushed.

Maybe you have a class, a group, or a few friends who want to come in together.

Maybe you’ve got crystals at home and have absolutely no idea what to do with them. 😂 Or you want to learn about crystal gridding, build something intentionally for your home, create an altar, or have someone actually walk around the shop with you and help you figure out what makes sense for you.

Or maybe you just want a drink, some good music, and the shop mostly to yourself while we nerd out about rocks.

That’s what Wednesdays are for.

We can tailor the experience around what you need, whether that means sensory accommodations, education, extra time, a group experience, or simply more individual attention.

Appointments are preferred with 24 hours notice, but don’t let that stop you from asking the same day. If we’re available, we’ll make it happen.

We need some help friends. 💜

This lovely gentleman visited The Crystal Guide yesterday & we’re a little worried about him.

Everything started beautifully. He browsed. He chatted. He filled one of our shopping tubs with over $100 worth of treasures. Rearranged them. Reconsidered them. Added things. Removed things.

A man who knows what he likes.

Eventually he made his way to the register, where he discovered something terrible. 😣

He had forgotten his wallet.

Happens to the best of us.

He assured us he’d be right back, left his very full tub behind and headed out to his new to him silver Mercedes SUV to retrieve it. 🏃

And then apparently became lost or confused.

We assume.

Because he never came back.

Naturally, we became concerned and checked the cameras.

THANK GOODNESS WE DID.

Because now we have an even bigger mystery. 🙀

At some point, it appears one of our crystals may have mistaken itself for his car keys and slipped into his pocket.

Obviously.

We haven’t interviewed the crystal yet, so we’re trying not to make accusations.

It may have been confused. It may have seen the Mercedes and thought, Ohhhh. Upgrade.

We simply don’t know. 🤷‍♀️

What we DO know is our temporarily walletless friend may now be driving around Portland unaware he’s entered into a rather unfortunate contract.

Oof.

That’s a pretty brutal return policy when the original price was considerably cheaper.

We’d really like to find him before the universe sends this thing to collections.

MONDAYS ARE OFFICIALLY A THING. 💜

We’re open today! And every Monday. ✨

For the next six weeks, we’re trying out extended Monday hours from 12-ish to 7-ish to see how you all like having a little more Monday magic available.

So if you’ve been looking for another day to wander in, explore, find the crystal that absolutely insists it belongs to you, or just spend a little time in the shop, come see us.

And a little reminder about Wednesdays: Wednesdays are available by appointment for anyone who would benefit from a more individualized shopping experience.

Need more time and personal attention? Want to bring in a group? Prefer no music or specific music? Lower lighting? Fewer people around? Other accommodations that would make your visit more comfortable? That’s what Wednesdays are for. 💜

We want The Crystal Guide to be a place where people can shop in the way that works best for them.

For our regular walk-in hours, we’re now open Thursday through Monday, with Wednesdays available by appointment.

Our first lavender harvest since the explosion. 💜

We picked it today and will bundle it, dry it and hang it around the shop.

Lavender is one of those beautiful places where science, nature and spirit overlap. Its aromatic compounds, including linalool, have been studied for their calming effects on the nervous system. In the garden, its flowers provide food for bees and other pollinators. And for centuries, lavender has been used spiritually for cleansing, protection, peace, healing and creating a sense of calm within a space.

Maybe that’s why this little basket feels like more than lavender today.🥹

Something grew here again. 💜🌿🙌

We were playing with some of our new pieces and this little gathering happened. 🖤🌿

A Green Aventurine Mother Goddess, surrounded by Obsidian Crows and a Quartz Geode Heart.

There’s actually a beautiful combination of symbolism here:

🌿 Green Aventurine is tradiionally associated with growth, abundance, optimism and new opportunities. Sometimes called a “stone of opportunity,” its green color also connects it with the heart and the energy of renewal.

🖤 Obsidian is volcanic glass, born when molten lava cools rapidly. It has a long history as both a practical and ceremonial stone and is commonly associated with protection, grounding, truth and clearing away what no longer serves us.

🐦‍⬛ Crows have carried powerful symbolism across cultures for centuries. Intelligent, adaptable and remarkably social, they’re often connected with transformation, mystery, intuition and moving between the known and unknown.

🤍 Quartz is one of the most abundant minerals on Earth, but geodes give us something special: an ordinary-looking exterior that opens to reveal crystals growing within. Quartz is traditionally associated with clarity and amplification.

And at the center, the Mother Goddess, an ancient symbol of creation, fertility, nature, abundance and the cycles of life.

Growth. Protection. Transformation. Clarity. Creation.

Apparently the crystals knew what they were doing when we put them together. ✨

All of these beauties are new to The Crystal Guide and available in the shop. 🖤

We’re still unpacking boxes, rearranging, resituating, and getting everything where we want it, but we had to give you a little peek at some of the new pieces coming out.

Crazy Lace Agate, Moss Agate, Aura Quartz, Green Strawberry Quartz… and this is only a tiny handful of what we’ve been unpacking. 💎

Some of these were ordered before the explosion, some after, and most of them have never made it onto our shelves before. There is SO much more coming out of those boxes.

We absolutely adore these two. ❤️ They’re dear friends, their whole family has been incredibly supportive of us and our little shop, and seeing them walk through the door always makes us happy.

They came in today on a mission for something we absolutely cannot show you because 👀🎁🤫 … but then Jimothy happened. 😂🦝

If you haven’t been following the saga of Jimothy, he’s the now-famous Seattle raccoon with a spinal condition who has somehow managed to capture the hearts of an entire city and inspire a whole little world of Jimothy art.

And this teeny-tiny original painting by our local artist Fiddlefern Arts was actually one of the pieces featured in the original news coverage about the Jimothy craze.

He spotted it and that was pretty much it.

“I can’t leave without Jimothy.”

So he didn’t. 😂

And now this tiny little piece of Jimothy history has officially found its home.

This is one of our favorite things about having the work of so many local artists in the shop. Sometimes you find exactly what you came looking for.

And sometimes a tiny raccoon painting looks at you and says, Yeah, buddy. I’m coming home with you.

We love our people. We love our artists. And we love Jimothy too. ❤️🦝
