As you may have seen in the news, a driver was shot and killed in his car last week in Portland, Oregon, while working for Uber. Anwar Osman was a father of six, supporter of the fight for driver rights in Oregon, and had family in our driver community in Washington as well.

Our union is doing everything we can to wrap our arms around Anwar's family as they deal with this tragedy, and one part of that is sharing the fundraiser set up to support his widow and children. The GoFundMe link to give is below:

Portland City Council unanimously passed an ordinance to create a Drivers' Resource Center to provide culturally competent support to Uber & Lyft drivers in our greatest moments of need. Whether it be a wage complaint, deactivation, or outreach & education. This is just THE BEGINNING! And next comes FAIR PAY!

This work is yrs in the making, and we're excited to take the next steps as a union, and a community. This is what happens when folks show up & fight!

We're back at it again! Had an informative conversation with the Committee on City Life on why Portland riders & drivers deserve Fairness in Rideshare.

Together we will pass fair pay for drivers, protections from rider price gouging, and fare transparency.
