A huge thank you to the Oregon Arts Commission for your generous donation to Open Hearts Open Minds.
Because of supporters like you, our classes keep running in Oregon's prisons, theatre, music, writing and more, all created by the people inside. Your gift brings creativity, connection and second chances to every room we enter.
We are so grateful.

Open Hearts Open Minds' visual arts class at Coffee Creek is in full swing, and the supply shelves need restocking.
Watercolor paper, brushes, and watercolor cards are at the top of the list. Every brush and sheet of paper you give lands directly in the hands of women making art while incarcerated.

He started as a participant. Now he's the board president.
"I said early on in my participation with OHOM that I would continue and get involved with the organization that made such a difference in my life. I want to continue this legacy... and become more."
Josh Underhill, Board President
Josh spent 10+ years in Open Hearts Open Minds programs while inside. Today he leads the organization, bringing what he calls "a unique perspective of real experience."
That's the whole mission in one story: people don't just go through the program. They grow into leading it. ❤️

Last Thursday on Alberta was such a good reminder of how amazing our community can be. ❤️
We had the chance to host a table, meet so many wonderful people, make beautiful connections, and get to know some seriously cool vendors along the way.
We left feeling really proud of all the people and organizations out there doing their part to support humanity, bring people together, and make our community a better place.
A huge thank you to Sandra at the Oregon Prison Project for sharing your tent with us and making room for Open Hearts Open Minds. We appreciate you!
We’re excited to get out into the community more, meet more amazing people, and keep going on these adventures together!❣️
