Serving all of Cumberland County with no-cost employment and training services, including recruitment, job fairs, workshops and more! The Greater Portland CareerCenter offers services in both individual and group settings. Job seekers: attend free workshops that will help you get a job, use free computers for job search purposes, and learn about training and new careers. We also have special services for veterans, people with disabilities, and young people who are looking for career help. Employers: We provide hiring help including the Maine JobLink--our free job matching service, interview rooms, job fairs, on-site recruitments, bonding of at-risk hires, help with Work OpportunityTax Credits, and many other services as well as layoff support. We also can connect you with many types of training and many programs include funding for the training.

If you're 16β24 and looking for education, career training, and support as you prepare for employment, Job Corps offers opportunities at no cost to eligible participants.

Job Corps- Loring and Penobscot Centers | Work Source Maine, Virtual Career Center Careers begin here. When it comes to your future, you should have choices. Choose your path, and Job Corps will provide you with free career training so you can gain the skills and tools you need to be successful.
Looking for work but facing barriers because of a disability? Vocational Rehabilitation may be able to help.
The Maine Department of Labor's Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) helps people with physical, mental, or emotional disabilities prepare for, find, and keep employment.
VR services are individualized based on your employment goals and may include:
β’ Career exploration and counseling
β’ Vocational evaluations
β’ Job-search and placement assistance
β’ Resume and interview assistance
β’ Job coaching and on-the-job support
β’ Help identifying appropriate training programs
β’ Assistance with tools, uniforms, or basic equipment needed for work
β’ Retraining or education needed to pursue a new career
β’ Information about employment opportunities and the labor market
Your VR counselor works with you to develop an employment plan based on your skills, abilities, interests, goals, and circumstances.
There is no cost to apply for VR services, and there is no charge for diagnostic services, vocational evaluation, counseling, or job-placement assistance. Eligibility and any potential cost-sharing for other services are determined based on individual circumstances.
If a disability is making it harder to reach your employment goals, you don't have to figure it out alone.
