Bella’s whole world has been turned upside down.

Her owner was going through significant mental health struggles, and when I became involved, the hope was to keep them together. I personally cared for Bella for a couple of weeks while he tried to get back on his feet. Unfortunately, he ultimately lost his housing, and keeping Bella was no longer an option.

When I first went into Bella’s home, there was a sign taped to the refrigerator that stopped me in my tracks:

“If anything should happen to me, please call my friend… about my cat. CAT NOT TO GO TO SHELTER.”

We called that friend, sadly they already tried to take Bella but their cat was not nice to her.

𝗜𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝘁.

Bella wasn’t unwanted. 𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆, 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱. ❤️

Now, at nine years old, this incredibly sweet girl is trying to understand why everything familiar to her has changed.

Bella is currently at the Glitter Box Cat Lounge in Portland, where you can go spend some time with her. She’ll look up at you with those big eyes and give you the 𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗼𝘄 asking for attention. She is incredibly sweet, and you can tell she’s still sad and confused by how much her life has changed. You can see it in her eyes. 💔

𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗴𝗼 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿. Sit with her. Give her some love. Remind her that even though she lost the life she knew, she hasn’t been forgotten.

Her first person loved her enough to make sure she would be safe if he couldn’t be there for her.

Please share Bella and help us find her next chapter. And maybe the person who goes in just to give her a little attention will realize 𝘀𝗵𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿. 🥹

Big day for our fluffy pair! Bubbles and Blossom officially went to their forever home today. I only cried like 4 times.

Blossom arrived to us with her sister Bubbles back in May. Blossom was the more easy going of the pair. Though she was cautious at first, she clearly was trusting of people and really enjoyed attention and being pet. She would happily purr away, rub on your hand and play with a toy any chance she got. As she got more comfortable in the lounge, her once demure disposition slowly devolved into absolute goofball, sassafras, weirdo. Whether getting zoomies in the dispensary tunnel, clumsily falling off a perch, or becoming possessed at the scratching post, Blossom was a very entertaining and loving gal to have around.

If you’ve been following along, you’ll know that our girl Bubbles has had a long journey. When she came to us, she was deeply fearful and defensive - hissing and spitting if you even looked at her. She had herself a little sabbatical (IYKYK 😩 shout out to Bubbles for taking 10 years off my life 🫠) and after I was determined to get her to trust. Months of patience and a lot of churus later, she was making progress. At first it was small victories - licking a treat off my finger or playing with a toy. Finally, at the end of July, she got her first pet, and to her utter and complete surprise, she LOVED it. Every day since then she has made leaps. Dolphin jumps, biscuit making, purring (and drooling), rolling over, mewing at us and even being held. For the first time in her little life, she wasn’t afraid.

These two gals stole many hearts at the lounge, but now they’ve finally stolen their forever heart. They’ll get to spend their days basking in sunbeams, birdwatching in the windows, snuggling with each other and bonding with their person. A very happy ending for the once stray floofs 🖤🌺🫧

This baby has waited so long for surgery to feel better and no longer live in pain! Let’s donate and get her the rest of the way! ❤️🌙

MEET MARBLES!

Looking for a cat with a little bit of dog energy? Meet Marbles. 😹🐶

Marbles is a fun, active, curious guy who wants to be involved in whatever his person is doing. He loves having things to watch, explore, and keep him entertained. In his previous home, he had access to a patio and was absolutely obsessed with watching the birds and squirrels. A home with big windows, a catio, or plenty of enrichment would be Marbles’ dream!

But underneath all that energy is a really sweet, deeply bonded boy. ❤️ Marbles loves his people deeply. He normally sleeps right alongside his person and wants to be part of their everyday life.

Marbles can be shy with strangers and will usually hide when new people come around, so he may not be the cat who immediately walks up and introduces himself at a meet-and-greet. He just needs someone willing to give him the time and space to feel safe and let that bond happen naturally.

Once you’re one of Marbles’ chosen humans, though, you’ve got yourself a loyal little sidekick. 🥹

These 6 absolutely gorgeous boys are around 10 weeks old, medium to long haired, and just as sweet as they are handsome. They are happy, loving, playful little kittens who are ready to find their forever families.

And before you ask us who is who… we’re not entirely sure either. 😹 They look SO similar in photos, but don’t worrytheir foster mom can tell these little floofs apart and will make sure you know who you’re meeting!

We have a feeling these fluffy little gentlemen are going to receive quite a bit of interest, so a few important reminders:

💚 Single kittens are only adopted into homes that already have another cat.
