So proud of this boy. Some of you know that he was diagnosed with autism when he was 2.5 yrs old. He started in full days of preschool at age 3, and has been going to an incredible school for kids with autism since kindergarten. Every year he’s had the same 10 kids in his class, and it’s been very comfortable for him.
This year he was ready for a BIG change! He started 7th at a regular public school filled with all new “typical” kids. It’s been a massive adjustment but he was up for the challenge. I know it isn’t going to be easy, and it’s going to take some time for him to find some friends and feel like he belongs there, but I’m grateful he is willing to step out of his comfort zone and push himself.
When he was first diagnosed, we didn’t know if he would ever be able to talk or be potty trained… I’m so proud of how far he’s come! 🥹
