The term Criollo originally referred to people of Spanish descent born in the Americas. Over time, it has evolved to represent a broader cultural identity, blending history, tradition, and artistic expression. Criollo artwork transcends geographical boundaries, creating its own visual language that reflects both heritage and contemporary influences. Through vibrant colors and unique techniques, it tells stories of resilience, nostalgia, and connection to place. Buy now and support a cause—A portion of all art purchases goes to Fe y AlegrÃa Venezuela and Venezuela’s Voice in Oregon. www.criollopaintings.com

Can you identify the macaw?
Come and visit the beautiful Collins Gallery at the Multnomah County Central Library and check out the Memories of Summer group exhibition. I will be on until the end of November. Ask me which macaw is from my native home.
