"We are teaming up with our friends across the street at Binks to fix a long-standing eyesore on our block. If you've visited the gallery in the last couple of years, you know it! There's a big pit filled with rubble and trash that we think would be a great idea to hide behind some murals until something more concrete is finally done about it. It feels great to watch our Alberta Street community come together and fix things ourselves when handed a bad situation.

All money raised will be used to buy materials and pay artists to make large-scale paintings. We're off to a great start and we would love to see you tomorrow night for the art show and at the end we will draw winning tickets!!

Laika

This lil galactic doggy is going to be showing with Antler & Talon Galleries at the Seattle Art Fair this weekend for their collection 'Just like Honey'!!
I've included some process pics as well as my first sketch and an extra sketch of the capsule Laika was launched in. I've fallen down a deep rabbit hole researching her and I can't stop thinking about the poor pup.🥲

The pearls were really fun to do as I did the base colors on a separate piece of paper then hole punched them out, attached them, then finished them up, creating perfect little circles.
Also, painting on Arches oil paper is something Ive only done sparingly over the years and it always takes some getting used to. It's so much different than canvas!!!
