10/16 PARTNER SPOTLIGHT: INHERITANCE STUDIO
There's a new creative space taking shape right here on the Multnomah Arts Center campus.
Located in Cottage 4, Inheritance Studio is a community art makerspace built around a simple idea: everyone should have a place to make something.
The studio provides creative space and supplies for people of all income and experience levels, with sliding-scale day passes and memberships. And nearly everything inside has another story behind it — art supplies, materials and even furniture have been sourced through estate sales, donations and secondhand finds.
At our October 16 Open House, stop by the Inheritance Studio table to meet the team, learn more about this new addition to the MAC community and make your own cyanotype bookmark to take home.
We're delighted to welcome Inheritance Studio to the neighborhood, and to Arts for All!

10/16 OPEN HOUSE SPOTLIGHT: GUILD OF OREGON WOODWORKERS
There's something uniquely satisfying about working with wood. The feel, the grain, the smell and the experience of shaping something with your own hands.
We're excited to welcome the Guild of Oregon Woodworkers to our Arts for All Community Open House!
With more than 1,100 active members, the all-volunteer nonprofit brings together woodworkers of all experience levels, from curious beginners to seasoned professionals. Their mission is centered on education, community and supporting excellence in the craft, with their shop located right here in Multnomah Village for the past 13 years.
On October 16, Guild members will set up a small workbench and invite visitors of all ages to try hand planing aromatic cedar. You'll get a hands-on introduction to woodworking, and can take home a sachet of fragrant cedar shavings as a memento.
Come meet some of our woodworking neighbors, try your hand at the craft and discover another creative community right here in Multnomah Village.

First Friday Recap: Imagination Station!
What happens when you give a room full of creative minds cardboard, corks, pom poms, feathers, paint and permission to make whatever they can imagine?
A lot of wonderful things.
Around 200 community members joined us for Friday’s Imagination Station at Multnomah Arts Center, transforming an eclectic mix of materials into colorful, one-of-a-kind 3D sculptures.
There were families gathered around tables, groups creating on the lobby floor and plenty of experimenting with whatever materials caught their eye. We also heard some very kind words from people coming through about how much they appreciate these free community events.
And a big thank you to Lucky Lab for keeping everyone fueled with some seriously good pizza!
Thank you to our volunteers and everyone who came out to make, eat, hang out and spend a Friday night with us at MAC.
See you at the next First Friday!

A Good Universe Next Door artist Maryanna Hollomon explores the impact of war on children and the global systems that contribute to displacement.
“A utopia cannot be achieved without working in solidarity with those most oppressed,” she writes.
Through her work, Maryanna invites viewers to consider the human consequences of militarism while imagining new possibilities for resistance, solidarity and collective care.
