I am playing this Friday 10/11 ALL NIGHT LONG on a 4-point Danley Audio sound system in a black box dark room from 10pm to 4 am. The first in a series of events by a new promoter group in Portland with ties to Occassion Vibration.

The Phantom Ship (aka Minneapolis artist Scott Gusts) premieres on Disposable Commodities with his second album of neon drenched chillwave beats.

The album was inspired by long drives on secluded highways at night.

Night Drives is composed like a live set, a continuous recording with a total run time of 45 minutes. The album is split across two long playing cassette sides.

DIS/CO is honored to share our latest physical release, a new cassette DJ mix compilation by Exael. Exael’s previous mixes for XLR8R and FACT took our breath away with their range and scope from ambient dub to breaks and drum n’ bass. For ‘Jester’s Gaze’ Exael channels post-pandemic mania into two 45-minute mixes. The A side is a blistering high energy drum n’ bass mix that splinters apart and reconfigures in unsuspecting ways. Exael uses multiple tracks at once for a jagged collage of mesmerizing rhythms. The B side cools things down for a relaxing, mellow start but the energy builds again into uneasy atmospheres that slowly diffuse and expand into room-filling walls of sound. Exael’s original productions can be found on pioneering electronic labels West Mineral Ltd, 3XL, Soda Gong and Lillerne Tape Club.
