As summer winds down, our Southern Maine teams got together at Goodfire Brewing Co. to spend some time together outside of the clinic and connect with teammates from across the region.
Building strong teams is about more than working side by side. It’s also about creating opportunities to connect and build relationships outside of our everyday routines. Those connections help create the supportive teams our patients and communities experience every day
Here’s to winding how summer together and continuing to build strong team 💙

After years of recurring back and knee pain, Laura wanted something different: to understand her body and learn how to move without constantly thinking about pain.
Working with Nicole, Physical Therapist and Managing Partner in our MVPT Portland, Maine clinic, Laura’s care focused on more than getting her out of pain. It was about understanding how she was moving, why certain things were contributing to her symptoms, and giving her the tools to carry that knowledge into everyday life.
Today, Laura describes feeling almost pain-free, and perhaps even more importantly, empowered to know what to do when pain does show up. Laura’s story is a great reflection of the kind of therapist Nicole strives to be – someone who holds high standards, explains the “why,” and takes the time to build a genuine connection with every patient.
Watch Laura and Nicole’s story. ❤️

💙 Wellness Wednesday: Balance Challenge! ⚖️
How’s your balance? Let’s find out!
Today’s challenge is simple:
🦶 Stand on one foot for 30 seconds.
🔄 Repeat on the other leg.
💪 For an extra challenge, try closing your eyes (only if you’re in a safe place and have something sturdy nearby if needed).
🟣 Want to level it up even more? Try performing the challenge on a BOSU ball or unstable surface to really test your balance and core stability!
Why does balance matter?
Balance is something we rely on every day, even if we don’t think about it! Good balance helps you:
✅ Reduce your risk of falls
✅ Improve coordination and stability
✅ Build strength in your hips, ankles, and core
✅ Make everyday activities like climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, or getting out of a chair easier
If standing on one leg feels difficult, don’t worry! Balance can improve with practice! It naturally changes as we age, after an injury, or with certain medical conditions, but targeted exercises can make a big difference.
If balance issues are affecting your confidence or daily activities, physical therapy can help. Our team can evaluate your balance, identify areas of weakness, and create a personalized plan to help you move safely and confidently.
