We picketed with our union siblings SEIU Local 49 and Legacy RNs of ONA to demand fair contracts, NOW!

Legacy CANCELLED our bargaining session this week. After committing to bring economics to the table, they bailed.

We will continue to show up, support each other, and fight for a fair contract! 💚 Thank you to our members who made it to the picket line, and to those who had to continue care for our patients with their hearts on the picket line. 💚

Last Friday, AFSCME members delivered our notice to picket to Legacy leadership.

On September 14, we’re taking the next step by picketing in solidarity with SEIU 49 and ONA.

This is an informational picket, and our message is clear:

📣 Progress contract bargaining.
💼 Protect our jobs.
❤️ Protect patient care.

We show up every day for our patients, our coworkers, and our communities. Now we’re showing up together to demand a contract that respects the people who make Legacy work.

That’s why we’re taking action again on September 14. AFSCME, ONA, SEIU 49, and our fellow healthcare workers are standing together to push management to bring forward proposals that respect the work we do every day—including wages, benefits, education benefits, APL, workplace safety, and more.

We’re showing management that we’re ready to fight for the strong contract our patients, our coworkers, and our communities deserve.

Session 13 Update!! 💪

🧊 Legacy has NOT responded to our proposal on the protection of immigrant workers and patients… it’s been 4 months! Instead they brought Kaitlin Walker, VP, Chief Environment of Care Officer as a subject expert for a presentation that left more questions than answers.

🚨 Legacy workers deserve answers about our healthcare!

Legacy is changing insurance administrators for all staff to Aetna without bargaining with the professional unions—and employees have been given far too little information about what this change actually means.

We deserve clear answers about:
❗ Coverage and benefits
❗ Deductibles and out-of-pocket costs
❗ Which providers will be in-network
❗ What happens to those currently receiving care outside the Legacy system

Some staff are already being told by their healthcare providers that they may lose coverage, with PacificSource possibly ending some contracts early—as soon as September 1st.

Healthcare workers should not have to worry about losing access to the doctors, therapists, and specialists they rely on while we’re busy caring for Legacy patients.

Legacy: lack of information, lack of access to our providers, and uncertainty about our physical and mental health benefits is NOT okay.

We deserve transparency. We deserve access to care. And we deserve a voice in decisions that directly impact our lives and our healthcare.

🗣️ Our cross-union efforts are making a difference! Joining forces with SEIU Local 49 Legacy RNs of ONA & OFNHP is creating movement at the table! We will do the to demonstrate our solidarity to get strong contracts at the table!

🗣️ We are staying firm on key issues like work/life balance! We want safe workplaces and reduced burnout!

🗣️ Legacy leadership has yet to counter on our economic proposal such as wages, benefits, and premiums.

🗣️ Our Solidarity Break was a huge success! Hundreds of staff across sites grabbed food, picked up swag, and talked about the issues that matter across unions!
