We’re officially counting down to the Rainbow Expo! 🏳️‍🌈🍰

On Saturday, September 26, The Cake Lab PDX will be serving up sliced cake, loaded brownies, and our brand-new, gloriously oversized cake-stuffed cookies.

Come find us from 10 a.m.–6 p.m. at Social Good Place, 4511 SE Main Street in Portland. Admission is free—and we recommend arriving hungry. 🧪✨

🧪🍪 NEW EXPERIMENT JUST DROPPED:
CAKE-STUFFED COOKIES. 🍰

Because apparently just making cake wasn’t enough for us.

So we asked the very important scientific question: What happens if you take a giant cookie…and stuff it with CAKE?

The answer: THIS. 👆

Meet our brand-new Cake-Stuffed Cookies — a whopping 4.5 inches across and 7 ounces each, with a soft, chewy cookie on the outside and actual Cake Lab cake tucked inside.

We’re bringing our ChocoLot cookies to the ORPIB Rainbow Expo later in the month …And ChocoLot won’t be alone! 👀 TWO OTHER cake-stuffed cookie flavors will be debuting alongside this one and our other Cake Lab creations. 🏳️‍🌈 Come be one of the first to try them!

The Cake Lab has been a little quiet for the past couple of weeks because we were off on a Spanish adventure! And yes… many croissants, churros, cakes, and other baked goods were seen and consumed. 😋🥐🍰

But we’re back — and we have a VERY exciting announcement!

🏳️‍🌈 The Cake Lab PDX will be at the very first Oregon Pride in Business Rainbow Expo on Saturday, September 25 from 10am–6pm! 🏳️‍⚧️

And even more exciting for us: this will be Cake Lab’s very first tabling event! We’ve been busy dreaming, planning, baking, and figuring out exactly what we want to bring, and we cannot wait.

Come join us and 90+ q***r and trans vendors at this FREE event! Shop the Big Gay Marketplace with 60+ vendors, visit nonprofit organizations, connect with q***r-owned businesses and service providers (need a q***r handyperson, housecleaner, or legal support by chance? 👀), and then make your way to the food court…

…where you’ll find us. 🍰🔬

We’ll be sharing more soon about exactly what Cake Lab is bringing, but here’s a little preview:

We had so much fun creating this western-inspired cake to celebrate Archie’s 90th birthday!

Vanilla sponge layered with vanilla faux cream cheese frosting and vanilla buttercream, then decked out rodeo-style with cow print sides, a bold red buttercream border, fondant rope, and all the western details — boots, hats, stars and more. ⭐️👢🤎

Happy 90th, Archie! We hope this next trip around the sun is one of the very best yet. ❤️

🌊🐠 This custom cake made quite the splash.

For an under-the-sea celebration, we created a Citrus Sunrise cake—our bright lemon sponge layered with silky lemon curd and vibrant raspberry compote, all wrapped in blue-tinted white chocolate ganache to bring the ocean to life.

We love creating cakes that are just as fun inside as they are outside. Every custom design is made from scratch and tailored to your celebration.
