For a homebuyer, the best time to purchase/schedule the home inspection is as soon as your offer is accepted and you are under contract, provided the contract includes an inspection contingency.
You want enough time to receive and review the inspection report before the inspection-contingency deadline. That gives you time to understand the home's condition, obtain specialist evaluations or estimates if needed, and make decisions before moving forward.
