Our PorchFest friends at Christ Church are planning a blessing of the animals. If you have a furry or feathered friend - or just want to see other people’s - check it out! They may not have camels like St John the Divine, but who knows what might show up?!

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS

Sunday, October 4 • 12:30 PM
Under the Tent at Christ Church
20 Carroll Street, Poughkeepsie

Bring the animal you love for a joyful community celebration in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and creation.

Each animal will receive:

An individual blessing
A Blessing Certificate
A St. Francis medal to take home

Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs — all creatures great and small are welcome!

Can’t bring your pet? Bring a photo.
We’ll also remember beloved animals who have died.

Not a church person? No problem. You are absolutely welcome.

Come as you are. Bring the creature you love.

Please keep animals safely leashed, harnessed, or in carriers.

The sun is setting a little earlier and Saturday will bring some cooler Fall weather, but you can still come down to the river and enjoy some live music. Pull out your favorite hoodie or sweater, bring some food and your blanket or chair.

The Desmond Teague Quintet with jazz vocalist Aila Gibbs will help us celebrate the last weekend of summer. 1915 W**e Cellar will have some wines, beers and more. Make it a picnic and bring your friends. There's no better way to cap off your Saturday afternoon.

Presented with the generous support of City of Poughkeepsie, Central Hudson and Ernest Henry.

Destination Dutchess , Chronogram , WAMC Northeast Public Radio

Don't miss out on the second Kaal Rock Park Concert coming up this Saturday September 19th from 4 - 6:30 featuring the Desmond Teague Quintet! 🎷
