Born from a frustrating night on the trail, gomohab_us was founded on a simple principle: adventure gear should make getting outside easier. Founder Panger Ye’s experience struggling with a rooftop tent in worsening weather inspired a range of quick-deploying, durable vehicle-based habitats.Mohab’s ecosystem includes hardwall rooftop cabins, racks and canopies, water storage, kitchens, awnings, lighting, and modular storage for popular overland platforms. At its heart is the ALTUS Hardwall Rooftop Cabin, combining lightweight aluminum construction, weather-resistant hard walls, integrated power, exterior cameras, and push-button deployment to create a comfortable basecamp in under a minute. South Africa Overland :: Luisa Bell 🗺️

There are countries within continents which are quite unlike those surrounding them: Uruguay and Turkey are good examples. And South Africa is unique on the African continent. It is a land of extremes: wealth and poverty, desert and tropical coast, cities and wide-open spaces. Yes, it has its challenges, but the crime and political instability should not dissuade you from exploring a country so beautiful and diverse that it is affectionately known as the Rainbow Nation. We found ourselves in lockdown in South Africa and fell in love (again) with a country that has so much to offer. Here are a few reasons to visit and a few nuggets of advice to help you along your way.

Long Range Desert Group Expeditions - by Scott Brady

Based in Cairo, Egypt, this disparate band of highly trained forces wreaked havoc amongst enemy troops in the Sahara by attacking from the direction they least expected – across hundreds of miles of desolate and barren desert. One of their most daring and successful raids was on the Italian Fort and Airfield at Murzuq on 11th January 1941. A force of 76 men in 23 trucks drove a staggering 1200 miles from Cairo to blow up the Airfield and shell the Fort. They used 2 WD Chevy and Ford 30 cwt trucks. These were later supplemented with the Jeep, which proved faster for specialised missions. Such missions often involved the newly formed Special Air Services (SAS) under the orders of David Stirling, founder of the SAS.

Traveling Across the Silk Road and Pamir Highway ( Björn Eldracher ) 🗺️

Through the desert-like plateau, we continued to climb until reaching Murghab. The village only has a few thousand inhabitants and offers good supply options in the local bazaar. It sits a little lower at about a 3,600-meter elevation within the high mountain landscape. Fortunately, we were completely untouched by symptoms of elevation sickness, and the Landy was still going strong at the high elevation.

2019 EarthCruiser FX :: Featured Classified

Expedition trucks are a fantastic choice for those who want to travel further for longer and mate backcountry capability with a luxurious habitat. Cue today’s low-mileage 2019 EarthCruiser FX (35,000 miles), which boasts a plethora of desirable factory options and is turnkey ready for exploration.

Feature Vehicle :: 1979 MAN Kat 1 ( PowderWeGo ⚡️⛷ 🔊🏜🏝🚀 )

The first time I set eyes on this epic MAN Kat 1, I was parked across the bay in Reine, Lofoten Islands, and distinctly remember thinking, “What in the name of Tolkien is that?” (or words to that effect). I rushed over, letting out the occasional childlike giggle of excitement (not dissimilar to a Chucky Doll), and with every step, the truck seemingly grew larger. Finally, I was face-to-face with a real-life monster; with adoption papers in hand, I was ready to meet my new parents (a boy can dream). Living on the road, I see a lot of larger vehicles (the Leyland DAF T244, Mercedes 1622, MAN LE160C, and Iveco Eurocargo are frequently sighted here in Europe), but Boris Malesset’s “Darth Vader” is in a totally different league.

Public lands are a core part of the United States, and we've been especially mindful of this during our 36 Hour Adventures. During the Sedona trip, Jakob and Roman made use of the 4Runner's offroad and camping capabilities exclusively on accessible public land. The more recent adventure in Montana's Gravelly Mountain Range similarly utilized public land, over 100 miles of it.
Our team is deeply grateful for the vast public lands across the U.S., especially with today being .

The Trucks of Iceland 🇮🇸

It is one of the last unspoiled landscapes on earth. Home to volcanoes, glaciers, and hundreds of miles of remote backroads, Icelanders rely on vehicles like few others to explore this tiny island nation. In a short three week visit, I managed to photograph only a handful of these ubiquitous adventure mobiles. Many are used to ferry tourists into the remote corners of the interior. Hundreds are available for rent if you dare to brave the fee. Several were brought to the island from as far away as South Africa. Overlanding Iceland is as good as it gets regardless of your mode of transportation.
