Okay, true story… and don’t judge me. 😂 A few weeks ago was my 3-year-old’s first time in Walmart.

Yeah, I know. Avoidance probably isn’t the best parenting strategy, but like most millennials, I grew up with the “don’t ask for NOTHING when we get in here” parents.

So instead of choosing violence, negotiations and public meltdowns, I just choose to let shopping be my “me time.” 😂

But honestly, her first Walmart experience was absolutely magical. She was singing, dancing, pointing at everything and living her best life.

It somehow made me see running errands in a whole new light. ❤️

Didn’t we JUST send them back to school?! 😂 And somehow they’re already home again for Labor Day.

If you’re staying in town this weekend and trying to figure out what to do with your little ones without planning an elaborate Labor Day trip, Peppa Pig Theme Park is such an easy option for toddlers and preschoolers.

A few things I genuinely love about it:

🐷 It’s designed for little kids, so the rides and roller coasters actually feel their size.

💦 There’s a HUGE splash pad, which is basically essential when Texas is still pushing 100-degree temps.

☀️ There are plenty of shaded play areas when everyone needs a break from the sun.

🎢 There’s enough to ride, splash, play and explore that Selah stays BUSY — without it feeling overwhelming for us.

And if I’m being completely honest, one of my favorite parts is that it doesn’t have to take up the entire day. 😂

Pro tip: We get there when the park opens, let her run around, ride everything and burn ALL that energy, and by nap time she is worn out and ready to go.

The pumpkins are coming out, the fall decor is going up, and mentally I have moved on to crisp mornings and sweater weather.

Meanwhile, Texas is still outside acting like it’s July and my husband and kids are apparently refusing to participate in my seasonal delusion. 😒😂

Fall sports are back…fall weather, however, is nowhere to be found. 🥵

With temps still hovering close to 100° for so many of us here in the South, I’ve been trying to think of little ways to help keep these young players cool and comfortable on game day.

This week was my turn to bring snacks for the team, so I added a couple of hot-weather tricks to the usual game-day prep — and these are definitely getting repeated until Texas decides it’s actually fall. 😂

Which mom are you — peaceful school morning routine…or just trying to get everybody out the door? 😂

Three kids fed, dressed, lunches packed, water bottles filled and everybody out the door — I’ll take anything that makes one part of the morning a little easier.

This year I’m choosing my peace and letting go of the idea that everything has to be done before we walk out the door. The dishes will still be there when I get back. I’ll get to them when I get to them. We just gonna spray and go! 😂

I started filming because it was either that or cry from pure back-to-school mom exhaustion and defeat. 😂

And let me be VERY clear — there was never, not once, a conversation between this child and me about light-up shoes. I would have remembered, because light-up shoes are personally not my favorite. They’re distracting, overstimulating, and were absolutely not on my list of requirements while I was searching for the perfect school shoe.

Apparently though, I missed a very important piece of information.

During the meltdown, I was informed that TWO girls in her class have light-up shoes.

Ahhh. There it is. 😂

So while I was worried about comfort, arch support, her little flat toddler feet, matching the uniform and finding something she could actually wear all day… she had one concern.

Do. They. Light. Up.

Three-year-olds will wear you down every single time.

It’s hot, we’re all out here cheering our kids on, and somehow sports parents have just agreed to suffer in silence from a camping chair 😅

School has officially started… but I am NOT packing away these beach towels. 😂

We got our towels this summer, and I fell in love with how soft they are, how little space they take up, and how quickly they dry.

So these are officially moving beyond the beach bag.

I’ll be throwing them in gym bags, sports bags, pool bags, travel bags… and honestly, I’m keeping one in the car because with three kids, you just never know. 😂
