I received messages of concern about a social studies teacher at Newman Smith High School in the Carrollton Farmers Branch Independent School District. Reportedly, Katherine Roberts has not been at work teaching at Newman Smith HS for about 3 weeks. I’m told that students have been reporting Katherine Roberts for inappropriate conduct in the classroom for at least the past 2 years. I was asked to look into this issue, because no communication has been sent from the school district. Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District

I checked Katherine Roberts’ teaching certificate on the Texas Education Agency site. It does show that she is currently under investigation by the TEA for an allegation of misconduct.

Four Boyd High School students were arrested on Sept. 16 and charged with felony injury to a child in connection to a Sept. 3 hazing incident in the school's field house. Boyd ISD

Boyd ISD, after completing its own investigation, says its staff handled the incident properly, and called some information shared on the incident "inaccurate and unfounded."

Boyd Police say they are still interviewing witnesses and could bring more charges as their investigation continues.

Several parents have reached out to me about a math teacher at Arbor Creek middle school in Carrollton, TX. Andrew Masoud has reportedly been placed on leave while the district investigates inappropriate behavior towards students. Lewisville ISD

Andrew Masoud was arrested in 2021 on a harassment charge in Dallas County.

I’m hearing that the assistant drill team instructor Colleen Hunt at Prosper High School has been fired.

Update: I sent messages to the principal and district this afternoon. This message has since been sent to the drill team families. I think there is more to this than what they are saying at this time.
