Big news for Rhode Island’s creative and industrial legacy. Harrison Steam Mill has been added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Built beginning in 1829, Harrison Steam Mill was among the early textile mills to embrace steam-powered manufacturing, helping shape Olneyville as Providence grew into a major manufacturing center. PRF is proud to have provided a $2 million construction loan to support work at Harrison Steam, helping preserve an important piece of Rhode Island’s history. Today, the building serves a new generation of artists, entrepreneurs, and creative businesses.
