As we celebrate with family, friends, and our community, let’s remember to keep our children safe while making beautiful memories.

A few safety reminders for parents:

• Keep children at a safe distance from fireworks — even sparklers can cause serious burns.
• Always have an adult supervise outdoor activities.
• Protect little ears during fireworks shows with headphones or ear protection.
• Stay hydrated and use sunscreen during daytime celebrations.
• Keep a close eye on children near pools, beaches, and other bodies of water.
• Create a family meeting spot in case you get separated at large events.
• Remind children not to pick up fireworks or items found on the ground after shows.
