Training day at PWR! Our direct service team spent some time together for a case management refresh. A chance to learn, talk through the work, share ideas, and reconnect with the harm reduction practices that help us show up for the people we serve.

From responding to overdoses to connecting people with support and services, this first year has given us a lot to be proud of. We’re grateful to everyone who has helped make this work possible, and to the people who walk through our doors every day.

Despite the rain, Rhode Island showed up. 💜

On Tuesday, our International Overdose Awareness Day statewide Narcan Distribution brought Narcan to nearly 100 locations across Rhode Island. Alongside our community partners and volunteers, we connected with community members, talked about why carrying Narcan matters, and shared information about how to use it and help save a life.

We truly could not have done this without our incredible community partners and sponsors. Your support made this life-saving, statewide effort possible.

And a special shout out to Liz from the Real Housewives of Rhode Island for stopping by to grab some Narcan and show her support for this work.

Every kit distributed means one more person has the tools to respond in an emergency. Thank you for helping us get Narcan where it belongs: in the hands of our communities. 💜

Yesterday morning, we came together for our Peer Appreciation Awards Breakfast as part of our International Overdose Awareness Day events.

It was a beautiful morning, filled with people who day in and day out use their own lived experiences to support others, create connection, and quite literally - save lives. We couldn’t be more grateful for the peer-led work happening throughout Rhode Island and for the people who continue to show up for their communities every single day.

Harm reductionists always find a way...rain or shine! 💜 ☔🌦

We’re doing our best to navigate the rain, support our volunteers with tents and supplies, and keep getting Narcan into the hands of Rhode Islanders.

Because of the weather, some locations were not ideal for distribution, so we’ve made a few adjustments. We’re sharing an updated schedule with all rain-related changes highlighted in yellow. Please take a look at the updated schedule for the most current information.

And one important reminder: our IOAD Vigil has been moved to TOMORROW, Wednesday, September 2nd, from 6–8 PM at Burnside Park in Providence. 💜

**IOAD Weather Update**

Our statewide Narcan Distribution will continue as scheduled tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1, from 12–4 PM at locations across Rhode Island. Location information can be found here: https://preventoverdoseri.org/events-calendar/

Due to the rain in the forecast Tuesday evening, we’re moving our IOAD Vigil to Wednesday, September 2, from 6–8 PM at Burnside Park.
