Genesis Center provides quality adult education, job training, support services and childcare.
Annually, The Genesis Center serves over 1,000 individuals in its adult education and workforce development programs and up to 100 children in its childcare program. Our staff and students represent more than forty countries and over a dozen languages. The self-sufficiency of our clients depends on learning English, accessing essential life skills and obtaining occupational/job skills training so

Genesis Center students are out of class and putting their skills to work! Nursing Assistants, Medical Assistants, and Dental Assistants are the backbone of the healthcare system and our amazing graduates work across the state with major healthcare employers like Thundermist Health Center Providence Community Health Centers and Care New England Health System to create a stronger healthcare system for all Rhode Islanders. Big thank you to Genesis Center's VITA site coordinators Niurka (right) and Kayla (left)--they just wrapped up a tax season helping low-moderate income individuals file their income taxes for free with the help of trained volunteers. Together, Genesis and the other members of the Providence VITA Coalition served over 3,500 tax filers and returned over $7.5 million dollars back into the local economy. Thanks to United Way of Rhode Island and Federal Hill House Association for leading the Providence Coalition and our IRS representative Meg (pictured in this photo) for her tireless advocacy for VITA and the Coalition
