We're proud to announce the financial closing of Chapanoke, a new 200-unit affordable housing community in Wake County, North Carolina, developed in partnership with Harmony Housing Affordable Development (HHAD) and F7 International Development, alongside Wake County, the City of Raleigh - Government, Wake Technical Community College, Raleigh Community Partners, and our financing partners.

As Gilbane Development's Yarojin Robinson shared, "Chapanoke reflects the power of partnership in addressing one of the most pressing challenges facing growing communities today." Together, we're creating a community that expands access to high quality affordable housing while connecting residents to education, employment, and future transit opportunities.

This National Intern Day, we're celebrating Gilbane's 2026 intern class and all they've accomplished throughout the summer.

At Gilbane Development, interns work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on involvement in every stage of the development process while contributing to projects that strengthen communities.

Those experiences are part of a broader impact across Gilbane, where 98% of surveyed interns say they're learning in their role and 89% of surveyed college seniors are considering full-time opportunities with the company.

Embra Madison Yards is a thoughtfully designed residential community located on Block 3 of the Madison Yards master plan on Madison’s Near West Side. Delivered through a strategic 50/50 joint venture between Gilbane Development and Summit Smith Development, known collectively as Smith-Gilbane, Embra builds on the success of earlier phases at Madison Yards while introducing a new residential offering tailored to today’s market demand. The community is expected to welcome its first residents in spring 2027.

The Peninsula Phase 2 continues to take shape in the Bronx's Hunts Point neighborhood. Building 2A is on track to receive its Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) this month, with Building 2B expected to follow in August.

Part of the transformation of the former Spofford Juvenile Detention Center, The Peninsula is creating a vibrant mixed-use community with 100% affordable housing, community spaces, open space, and opportunities for local businesses. It's exciting to see another phase of this community move closer to welcoming residents.
