Pepper Entertainment promotes up to 60 shows a month. Their billboard strategy has to move just as fast.
As one of the country’s leading independent concert promoters, Pepper Entertainment markets shows across different cities, venues, timelines, and ticket goals.
That means one media plan does not work for every event.
With Blip, their billboard strategy follows the rhythm of each show:
Announcement
Build early awareness when the show is first announced.
Middle
Stay visible while tickets are still moving.
Closing
Increase visibility in the final stretch before showtime, when attention matters most.
As Kyle Heino, VP of Marketing at Pepper Entertainment, put it: “It’s become kind of a hidden weapon.”

You can buy more reach, or you can build more memory.
That difference matters for billboard campaigns.
Reach is how many different people see your ad.
Frequency is how many times the same people see it.
Your budget buys a mix of both.
You could spread your campaign across a whole metro and reach more people once.
Or you could focus on the roads near your business and reach the same local drivers again and again.
For many local businesses, the second option is stronger.
Because recognition comes from repetition.
Three ways to raise frequency without raising your budget:
• Narrow your target area to where you actually sell
• Use fewer boards on roads people drive daily
• Run your campaign for 90 days instead of 30
With Blip Optimized, you set your goal, target area, budget, and dates. Blip finds the right mix of nearby boards and helps keep your ad in front of the people most likely to see it again.
Would you rather reach more people once, or be remembered by the right people?

OOH can lift unaided brand awareness 3.6x.
But awareness only matters if the right people see you often enough to act.
That is why industries like restaurants, home services, retail, events, healthcare, and fitness tend to be a strong fit for billboards.
Restaurants stay visible right before a craving hits.
Home service businesses become the name people remember when something breaks.
Retail and event brands reach people beyond their usual audience.
Healthcare and fitness businesses build local familiarity before someone books.
But industry is only part of the story.
The bigger question is whether your business is ready to turn visibility into action.
That usually means:
• A website or landing page ready for traffic
• A clear way to track what changes
• A campaign that runs long enough to build recognition
Because billboard results usually do not come from one burst of attention.
They come from being seen again and again, until your name feels familiar.
Regardless of your industry billboards can work if you:
Show up in the right place.
Stay consistent.
Give people a clear next step.

One board. One offer. Tripled sales in three days.
Big Nick's BBQ, a family-run restaurant in Sylva, North Carolina, put a single billboard near their location with one simple message: breakfast hours, 7 to 11 a.m.
No wide reach. No complicated design. Just the right message, in the right spot, seen by people who already drive past every day.
Three days later, sales had tripled.
That's what happens when a billboard does one job really well: put your name in front of the people who are already close enough to walk in.

Most business owners think they have to choose between billboards and digital ads.
They don't work against each other. They work together.
Digital ads are strongest when someone already recognizes your name. Billboards build that recognition first, on the roads and in the neighborhoods your customers already know.
So when your ad shows up later in search, social, or email, people aren't starting from zero. They are already familiar with your brand, and that familiarity is what turns a scroll into a click.
Swipe through to see how the two channels actually work together.
Wondering how your billboard campaign is doing? Start with your Blip dashboard.
When you open it, the first things you’ll see are your impressions and CPM, so you can quickly check how many people your campaign is reaching and what that reach is costing.
You can also see:
• Payment status
• Recent activity
• Ad moderation status
• A map of where your ads are running
• Reports by date or campaign
Everything is in one place, so you’re not guessing what ran, where it ran, or what to check next.

Nobody remembers a billboard they saw once.
The old way of buying billboards was about reaching as many people as possible.
But for most local businesses, the better question is: Are you reaching the right people often enough to be remembered?
Someone who passes your board three times a week is more likely to remember your name than someone who sees it once and never sees it again.
That is what Blip Optimized is built for.
You set your goal, target area, and budget. Blip finds the right mix of nearby boards and helps keep your ad in front of the people most likely to see it again.
Because recognition usually does not come from one big impression.
It comes from showing up consistently.

The biggest myth about billboard advertising? That it’s only for big brands.
Traditional billboards can cost thousands upfront, but with Blip, you don’t need a long contract or a minimum buy.
You can start with a budget that makes sense, then scale as you go.
The key is consistency.
For your first campaign, choose a budget you can comfortably run for 90 days. That gives your audience time to recognize your brand and gives your billboard time to do its job.
Depending on your market, that might look like $1,000–$2,000 per month for one board.
Start there. Learn what works. Adjust anytime.

How many customers would your billboard need to pay for itself? The answer is probably fewer than you think.
You only need two numbers:
• Your monthly billboard budget
• Your average customer value
Then do one simple calculation:
Monthly billboard cost ÷ average customer value = break-even customers
For example:
A furniture store spending $2,500/month with a $1,000 average sale needs about 3 new customers to break even.
That's less than one new customer per week.
A quick-service restaurant spending $1,500/month with a $10 average order needs about 150 orders.
That's roughly 5 orders per day.
Plus, for businesses with higher-value customers, like law firms, medical practices, or home service companies: a single new customer can often cover the entire month's billboard spend.
Before deciding a billboard is too expensive, run the math.
How many new customers would your billboard need to break even?

$20,000 in added revenue from under $3,000 in billboard spend. That was the final-month result for Mr. Charlie’s Chicken Fingers, a Utah restaurant promoting its second location in the Salt Lake Valley.
The billboard campaign also drove:
13% month-over-month sales lift at the original location
11% month-over-month sales lift at the new location
22% increase in website traffic
57% increase in phone calls
More than 3 million impressions across the full run.
The strategy was simple: stay visible near the right exits, in front of the same local commuters, long enough for people to recognize the name.
Because billboards rarely work like a one-and-done ad.
They work by building familiarity over time, so when someone is ready to eat, call, visit, or search, your business is already the one they remember.
