Mythology

Consisting of Brynen Sosa, Jordan Morrissey, and Jordan Stackhouse, they play with a force that is unparalleled by any band famous or local. This force could only be described as "Controlled Chaos". Graced with a good melodic sense to write an inescapably catchy hook, the instrumental control to play what seems like impossible passages, the fearless mindset to go completely berserk and atonal, the daring and unknown sense of improvisation, and the humor to keep an audience chuckling for weeks to come, they will turn your head whether you want it or not. Having released their first album, "Greatest Hits" in 2009, They established themselves in the local music scene as a force to be reckoned with. Their 2012 offering, "Forever Endeavor", showed no signs of stopping. Going much deeper into the Progressive Rock genre than its predecessor, their second album had a mystique that only few can achieve with a great balance of Broad Composition, Technicality, and Accessibility. Their third album, "Mythology III: The Search For Relevance", is a Mature amalgamation of several musical ideas. Capable of writing not only wonderfully enticing melodies, but also challenging passages that may even confound some listeners, Mythology is also not afraid to have a sense of humor on top of it all! Their 4th outing, “All The Planets Have Aligned”, is a statement from a band fully comfortable with themselves and their craft. Possibly the band’s most accessible album, Planets also manages to be some of their most complex material to date ironically. A true thrill ride from front to back! In September of 2020, the band decided to release “The Pinstripe Players”, a record of all straight-ahead jazz songs. In a wonderfully delightful detour, the band manages to showcase their deep love for classic vocal-centric jazz music while maintaining their Mythology thumbprint and personality. Fusing many different genres including Jazz, Metal, Blues, Progressive Rock, Classical, and Cinema, you never quite know where you'll end up next. Brynen Sosa's guitar pyrotechnics, smooth vocals, and quirky sense of humor lead the band through many eclectic ideas strewn together seamlessly. Jordan Morrissey's manic, yet impeccably controlled drumming is the engine of the band. And the newest addition of Jordan Stackhouse on bass guitar has brought new life into the group, with his improv sensibilities, groovy bass lines, and lightning fast chops. Get ready, here comes Mythology!
