WE’RE EXPANDING. 🖤
A new city.
A bigger vision.
More opportunities.
Next week, TDA officially enters a new chapter as I relocate to Charlotte, NC.
But Raleigh isn’t going anywhere. We’ll continue building in both markets while expanding our network into Atlanta and beyond.
This move isn’t just about where I’m living—it’s about creating more access, more connections, and more opportunities for the TDA community.
We’re taking the next few weeks to prepare behind the scenes.
September is going to look different. 👀
Charlotte. Raleigh. Atlanta.

Your portfolio isn’t just a collection of your favorite photos—it’s your visual résumé.
One of the biggest mistakes aspiring models make is building a portfolio filled with random photoshoots instead of images that reflect the work they actually want to book.
If your goal is commercial modeling, your portfolio should show you can sell a lifestyle. If your goal is editorial, it should showcase creativity, expression, and fashion. Every image should have a purpose.
Before your next photoshoot, ask yourself:
“Is this helping me attract the clients and opportunities I want?”
Remember, clients aren’t looking for the prettiest photo—they’re looking for someone who fits their brand.
Work with intention. Build with purpose. Let your portfolio tell the story of the model you’re becoming.

MODEL INDUSTRY TRUTH #2 ✨
One of the biggest mistakes aspiring models make is assuming every modeling agency operates the same way.
The reality? Agencies can specialize in different markets and offer different levels of development, representation, and opportunities.
Before signing with any agency, take time to understand:
* What they specialize in
* What they expect from you
* How they support their talent
* Whether they align with your career goals
An informed model is a stronger model.
Save this post for future reference, and share it with someone who wants to start modeling.

MODEL INDUSTRY TRUTH #1 ✨
One of the biggest misconceptions new models have is believing every runway show comes with a paycheck.
The truth? Some runway opportunities are paid, and some are not. The difference is understanding the value, expectations, and terms behind each opportunity.
A professional model doesn’t just ask, “Can I walk?”
They ask, “What is this opportunity providing, and does it align with my goals?”
Education is what separates a model from someone simply wearing clothes on a runway.
Welcome to The Model Industry Truth Series™ — where we break down the knowledge every aspiring model needs.

Did you know?
A comp card is one of the first things agencies, brands, and photographers ask for when considering a model.
It should include:
✔ Professional Images
✔ Your Measurements
✔ Contact Information
✔ A Clean, Professional Layout
Think of it as your modeling business card—always have it ready.
At TDA, we believe every model should have the tools needed to succeed.

You know it’s okay to smile in your digitals right? 😁
One of the biggest misconceptions in the modeling industry is that you should never smile in your digitals. While agencies often ask for clean, natural expressions to see your features clearly, a genuine smile can absolutely be appropriate—especially when it feels authentic and showcases your personality.
The key is balance.
Your digitals should show:
✨ Your natural features
✨ Your facial structure
✨ Your versatility
✨ Your confidence
A neutral expression is important, but including a natural smile can demonstrate that you’re capable of commercial work and connect with clients looking for approachable, relatable talent.
Remember, the goal of digitals isn’t to look overly posed—it’s to show the real you.
📸 Pro Tip: During your digitals, capture a variety of expressions:
• Neutral face
• Soft smile
• Genuine smile
Giving agencies and brands options helps showcase your range while keeping your digitals professional.
At TDA, we believe preparation and education are just as important as the photos themselves.
