Shanah Tovah u'Metukah 🍎🍯
As we welcome Rosh Hashanah, we are entering a new season – one of reflection, renewal and new beginnings. We wanted to take a moment to wish you and your loved ones a very sweet and meaningful new year.
We would also like to say thank you. Thank you for being part of our community, for following our work, and for believing in what we do.
As we begin this new year, we'd like to invite you to help us continue.
This is the season we remember. Now let's turn remembrance into action.
Your support helps us bring Jewish community life in Belarus back to full strength, deliver humanitarian aid to those who need it most, and teach future generations the true history of the Holocaust in the Soviet Union. It helps us preserve the personal stories of the people Belarus shaped, reconnect families with their Jewish roots through ancestral records, and put Belarus's Jewish heritage back on the world map through a new Jewish Heritage Route.
We cannot do this alone. Please support us – together, we can do this.
Every gift moves us forward – from remembering what was lost, to protecting what remains, to building what comes next.

Every team needs a starting XI. So does reviving a community 🌍⚽️
Our sister organisation, The Together Plan, has launched its first-ever fundraising appeal – and we’re proud to stand with them.
For over a decade, The Together Plan has been working to revive Jewish community life in Belarus – a country where Jewish history was nearly erased. They trace families through archives, restore memorial sites, preserve personal stories, bring hidden history into classrooms, and deliver humanitarian aid to those in need.
None of this happens without a team behind it. And right now, that team needs its supporters more than ever.
As the US sister non-profit of The Together Plan, Jewish Tapestry Project is proud to support this vital work. Will you take your place in their starting XI? Learn more how to do it on The Together Plan’s website.

An important conversation about Novogrudok. Join us online.
On 26 September 1943, the last Jews remaining in the Novogrudok Ghetto, approximately 240 people, attempted the impossible. After months of digging a tunnel from the labour camp barracks, over 130 inmates successfully escaped. It remains the greatest Holocaust escape in terms of the number of survivors.
Today, the site of that extraordinary act of resistance is at the centre of a troubling development. In July 2025, a historic agreement was signed to establish the Belarusian Museum of the Holocaust and Resistance in Novogrudok. But on 11 May 2026, three buildings that formed part of the labour camp complex, including one intended for the museum, were sold at auction without the knowledge or consent of the signatory partners.
Join us for an online discussion to examine what we know, what is at stake, and the wider challenges of Holocaust memorialisation in the former Soviet Union. Guest speakers Lady Esther Gilbert, Shifra Poupko and Betty Cohen, daughter of tunnel escapee Fanya Dunetz Brodsky, will share their insights.
The event takes place next Wednesday 24 June at 7.00 pm BST (11.00 am PST / 2.00 pm EST / 9.00 pm Israel) and is free to join online. Register via the link: https://www.thetogetherplan.com/events/the-future-of-the-site-of-the-novogrudok-labour-camp-and-the-tunnel-escape/

In the lead-up to Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, we are sharing something truly special with you 🕯
Last month, we gathered in north London for a deeply moving UK premiere of Memory Embrace: The Brest Jewish Cemetery, followed by two online screenings that brought our global community together. The response was extraordinary.

Memory Embrace traces the 12-year journey of The Together Plan's campaign to reclaim Brest's lost Jewish heritage — from scattered gravestones to an enduring memorial. It is a story of destruction, restoration, and quiet defiance against forgetting.
We are especially grateful to Brad Pomerance and the entire team at Jewish Life Television (JLTV) for bringing this story to the screen with such care, depth, and humanity. Thank you for helping us ensure that Brest's voice is heard.
This Yom HaShoah, as we remember the six million and honour the communities destroyed, we invite you to watch, reflect, and share.

🌟 A Historic Announcement for European Jewish Heritage!
Last night at the EuroChanukah celebration in Brussels, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced the launch of the Simone Veil Prize for European Jewish Cultural Heritage.
This major new annual EU award will honor outstanding projects, from exhibitions to digital archives, that highlight how Jewish heritage has shaped Europe. It represents a profound commitment to preserving and celebrating Jewish culture across the continent.
We at the Jewish Tapestry Project celebrate this initiative and its values of memory and resilience. Our sister non-profit, The Together Plan, is a member of the Association of European Jewish Heritage (AEPJ) and is actively building a Jewish Heritage Route in Belarus — work that mirrors the very aims of this new prize.
This is a significant step forward for recognition and support. We look forward to seeing the first laureate in 2026!

Under the solemn skies of Brest on July 28, 2025, history whispered anew.
The Brest-Litovsk Jewish Cemetery Memorial 'Memory Embrace'—a sacred culmination of a twelve-year odyssey of remembrance—was officially opened.
In this hallowed moment, weathered stones returned home, and fractured memories were made whole. It stands as a testament to what determined hearts can achieve when united in purpose.
In partnership with our UK sister non-profit The Together Plan, we are immensely proud of what we’ve helped to accomplish.
This memorial on the territory of the Brest-Litovsk Jewish cemetery in the south of Belarus, marks the end of years of tireless effort to honour a long-forgotten chapter of history—the Jewish cemetery of Brest-Litovsk in southern Belarus. This is a story that needed to be told.
To everyone who supported, championed, and believed in this vital cause—thank you. This memorial opens a new dialogue and illuminates the hidden history of Eastern Europe’s Jews—the Polish Jews who became Soviet Belarusian Jews in 1939, only to be murdered between 1941 and 1944 after N**i Germany invaded the Soviet Union.
So many stories remain untold.
Now, we begin telling them.
