Freedom Communities was founded in 2017 to address poverty through housing, education, and wraparound programming for families in Charlotte’s Freedom Drive Corridor — and their work is far from finished.

SECU Foundation was honored to support their next chapter, presenting a $350,000 grant for campus expansion and lending a hand with local State Employees' Credit Union employees for a neighborhood beautification project. Once complete, the new campus will allow Freedom Communities to extend their reach and provide even more families with the resources, counseling, and services they need. We are proud to support their vision for West Charlotte.
