There is a question that changes the way we approach problems:
"What would it take to prevent this?"
Instead of waiting for harm to happen to girls, prevention asks us to look upstream.
What beliefs need to be challenged?
What information is missing?
What support do families need?
What opportunities should be available?
What conversations aren't happening yet?
These questions don't produce instant answers.
But they can produce something more lasting: change at the source.
At Invisible Girl Project, prevention is central to our work because protecting girls means working toward a world where fewer girls need to be rescued in the first place.

"I never knew there was a way to stop it," a student said after our team taught 9th and 10th grade boys about female gendercide.
Our team spoke about the value of girls during one Awareness and Prevention session.
The boys had great questions and were engaged with the lesson.
We are so excited to continue reaching the next generation, and seeing transformation happen among youth!

What does peace look like for a girl?
It looks like going to school without fear.
It looks like being safe in her own home.
It looks like growing up without being forced into marriage.
It looks like knowing her life has value.
On the International Day of Peace, we're reminded that peace is more than the absence of conflict.
Peace is the presence of safety, dignity, justice, and the freedom to build a future.
For girls in India facing violence, discrimination, and exploitation, that kind of peace is still out of reach.
We believe every girl deserves to know what it feels like to be safe.

A girl's safety should never depend on how much her family can afford to protect her.
For many girls in India, poverty can make already difficult choices even harder- whether that means leaving school, entering a child marriage, or becoming vulnerable to trafficking and exploitation.
That's why prevention matters.
When we support girls and their families before a crisis happens, we have a chance to change the path ahead.
Protecting girls means giving families options, and giving girls a future.
Will you help us protect girls?

Sometimes rescue means getting to a girl before she ever becomes a statistic.
Before a child is trafficked, a marriage is arranged, or when she is pulled out of school.
That is why IGP works with grassroots partners across all of India to identify girls who are vulnerable and intervene early.
Rescue is not just responding to what has happened.
It is preventing what could happen next.
That's what it means for us to go upstream.

63 million girls are missing from India's population.
That number is difficult to comprehend.
But the work to change it happens one girl, one family, and one community at a time.
Change begins when a girl is rescued from danger, a family chooses to keep their daughter in school, a community learns what the law says about child marriage, and a survivor receives care and the chance to build a future.
This is the work that we do.
Our mission is to rescue girls, pursue justice, and end female gendercide in India.

A school uniform can look like an ordinary thing to many people.
For a girl who was once expected to work, stay home, or marry young, it can mean something much bigger.
To her, she gets to learn, grow, and imagine a life beyond what was expected of her.
Education doesn't erase everything a girl has experienced.
But it can open a door that once seemed closed.
That's why education is such an important part of IGP's work with rescued and vulnerable girls.
Because their futures are worth investing in.

60,000 girls became mothers in just six months.
And now, the world has a date on the calendar to help end the illegal cycle of child marriage.
On September 4, the UN declared November 27 the International Day for the Elimination of Child Marriage.
Just days later, West Bengal launched an intensified crackdown on child marriage as the state confronts the staggering number of underage births.
Behind every statistic is a girl who deserved school, safety, and a childhood.
Swipe to understand what's happening, and why it matters.

What does $50 a month actually do?
It helps keep a girl connected to an education she might otherwise have had to leave behind.
But there's something bigger happening too.
A sponsored girl is growing up with the expectation that her education matters. With counseling from our team, food, and her needs met, she has the freedom to focus on learning and pursuing her dreams. She learns that her future is worth investing in.
And when hundreds of girls grow up with those realities?
We see transformation become generational.
Child sponsorship isn't just about supporting one girl today. It's about changing what becomes possible for the girls who come after her.
If making this kind of impact resonates with you, sponsor a girl today. Link in bio!
