This is what it’s all about!

This week, our Workforce Training Barbering students had the opportunity to be part of the City of Raleigh’s Meet Us at the Square event — and they showed up ready to serve!

Together, our students provided 100+ complimentary haircuts to members of our community.

I love seeing our students take what they’re learning in the classroom and put those skills to work in the real world. They’re building confidence, making connections, and giving back along the way.

So proud of this group and the way they represented Wake Tech Workforce!

Thank you to the City of Raleigh for inviting us to be part of such a great event!

☕ National Coffee Day!

Okay, important question… how do you take your coffee?

Black? Sweet? Iced? Extra cream? However you like it, today is the perfect excuse to grab a cup!

And since coffee shops are all about great service and hospitality, we’re highlighting Hospitality & Service training at Wake Tech Workforce Training.

Take a look and see what’s brewing! ☕

We love seeing our students putting their skills to work!

These cosmetology students at Vernon Malone College & Career Academy have been busy learning and practicing since they started their training with Wake Tech Workforce Training in August.

VMCCA students get to combine high school academics with hands-on, career-focused training — and the first quarter wraps up this week!

They’re off to a great start!

Lights, camera, laughs!

Our Personal Enrichment Advanced Improv class took the stage at Wake Tech North last night, and they brought the FUN!

Lots of laughs, great energy and so much talent on that stage. It was great watching our students think on their feet, make each other laugh, and have a great time doing it.

A huge shoutout to our students and instructor for a great night!

We’re proud to spotlight one of our own!

In celebration of Adult Education & Family Literacy Week, we’re cheering on Haley Boone, Assistant Professor of ESOL in College & Career Readiness, who is presenting today at COABE’s Innovation Lightning Talks!

Haley will share a beginning-level curriculum and companion story series that helps English language learners build workforce-ready English and skills from day one.

Her work is making a difference — and now she’s sharing it with adult education leaders from across the country.
