Volunteers (18+) will help honor the lives of homicide victims by setting up memorial photo posters and staffing a water station for participants during NCVAN’s annual 5K Run/Walk.

Volunteers will help restore a healthy native ecosystem by removing invasive plants from a riparian buffer, supporting biodiversity and the natural beauty of the Scottish Hills neighborhood.

Volunteers (16+) will help create a welcoming, inclusive space where teens and adults of all abilities can connect, play games, enjoy crafts, and feel a sense of belonging at The Social Club.

Volunteers (18+) will help celebrate 30 years of service by welcoming guests, assisting with event activities, and supporting setup and breakdown at their “Pearls of Promise” anniversary event.

Activate Good is grateful for support from 9/11 Day and AmeriCorps that made 1,000 school supply kits and 850 classroom hygiene kits for our eLOVEate Schools possible! The hands of many at our 25th Anniversary Remembrance Event personalized, assembled, and boxed the kits, and our team experienced the joy of delivering them to school leaders who were absolutely thrilled to have them for students.

Volunteers (18+) will supervise children and assist with fun activities and enrichment to support families transitioning out of homelessness during Wake County teacher workdays.

Volunteers of all ages can host a diaper drive by gathering friends, family, coworkers, or community groups to collect diapers and help stock Diaper Train’s shelves.

Volunteers (15+) will greet customers, run food and drinks, wash dishes, clean tables, and assist with cafe operations to help create a welcoming community where everyone can enjoy a meal.

Purpose-driven teams make an impact!

Recently, 48 UBS volunteers united to brighten the first week of school for Parkwood Elementary through the eLOVEate Schools Project, creating nearly 500 kits in response to Beyond the Backpack’s request for support that goes beyond traditional school supplies.

Together, they made:
🎨 Creative learning kits with arts supplies
🍎 Teacher emergency drawer kits with snacks, first aid & essentials
💙 Comfort & care kits for students navigating illness, loss, or other tough moments

AmeriCorps 9/11 Day

On September 11, local nonprofit Activate Good will lead its annual 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance Event at John Chavis Memorial Park, bringing the community together for hands-on service projects, a community connections fair, and more! There’s a morning shift (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.) and an afternoon shift (2 p.m. – 4 p.m.) if you’d like to participate!
