Sparkle Mentoring Program
Our mission is to equip them with the tools they need to succeed. SPARKLE is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization. We will provide a group mentoring experience.
Sparkle Mentoring Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing personal development opportunities specifically for black girls from ages 10–18. This organization is formed for girls of color ages 12-18. We provide a nonjudgmental and
safe environment in which teens participate in interactive monthly enrichment
workshops facilitated by community professionals and leaders. Mentors will follow-up with each girl between monthly meetings. SPARKLE commits to linking the girls and their families to community resources. SPARKLE is dedicated to increase teens’ leadership, educational, social and spiritual
development. We implement evidence-based practices. Evaluations of youth
mentoring programs have provided evidence that high-quality, enduring
relationships can lead to a range of positive outcomes for the young people
involved. (MENTOR, National Mentoring Partnership).

THE STEM MAKEOVER: Turning Junk Into Genius! Get ready for an afternoon of creativity, discovery, and hands-on learning with the Sparkle Mentoring Program! On Saturday, September 26th, our girls will participate in The STEM Makeover, an interactive STEM innovation and empowerment workshop led by Linda Hargrove — Engineer, STEM Educator & Author. This isn’t just a presentation — the girls will be building, experimenting, creating, and discovering how engineering shows up in everyday life! They’ll explore:Acoustical Engineering — creating their own phone amplifier using everyday materials
Physics & Optics — designing and building a Newton’s Color Disk
Mechanical Energy — creating a cardboard and string spinner while learning about motion, tension, and energyOne of the most powerful parts of this experience is giving our girls the opportunity to learn directly from a Black woman in engineering—helping them see that STEM is not only a field they can explore, but a space where they belong, can excel, and can lead. If you want your daughter to experience opportunities like this, now is a great time to join the Sparkle Mentoring Program! We invite families with girls ages 10–18 to learn more about becoming part of our Sparkle community. Join in time for your girl to participate in The STEM Makeover and experience the mentorship, enrichment, leadership development, wellness activities, educational opportunities, and sisterhood Sparkle provides throughout the year.
