It's Falls Prevention Awareness Week!

Falls are one of the biggest risks to seniors living independently, but many are preventable with a few simple changes at home. This week, we're sharing tips to help keep your loved ones safe.

🔹 Clear walkways of clutter, cords, and loose rugs
🔹 Add grab bars in bathrooms and near stairs
🔹 Make sure lighting is bright, especially at night
🔹 Wear proper, non-slip footwear, even at home

A diagnosis of Alzheimer's or dementia changes a lot, but it doesn't erase who someone is. Moments of connection, joy, and familiarity are still possible, sometimes in the smallest of ways: a favorite song, a familiar face, a gentle hand to hold.

Help us bring holiday cheer to homebound older adults in Berks County through our beSanta initiative! We’re teaming up with BARTA for a Stuff-A-Bus donation drive at our Senior Expo on September 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Consider purchasing an item from our wish list and donating it when you arrive at the Expo! Look for the BARTA minibus at the front of the stadium to drop off your donations.
