🎂🍫 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MOM, KATHLEEN! 🍫🎂

If you’ve attended the California Chocolate Expo, there’s a good chance you already know my mom. You’ll usually find Kathleen helping at the admission booth, preparing for the event, or entertaining my kiddos while I run around producing it. ❤️

But what you may not know is that she’s also part of the reason the California Chocolate Expo exists.

My mom is a lifelong, unapologetic chocoholic. 😂🍫

She taught me to make fudge when I was a toddler, beginning a holiday tradition we’ve continued my entire life.

We watched W***y Wonka & the Chocolate Factory more times than I could possibly count—and would pause the movie so we could pretend to reach into the TV and grab the candy. 🍭

A trip to the mall simply isn't complete without stopping at See’s Candies. And driving an hour or so on a whim to visit a chocolate shop is just a normal Tuesday.

And today, she holds the extremely difficult and highly prestigious position of official Anah Roll taste tester. It's a sacrifice, really. 😂

Somewhere between the fudge, the imaginary Wonka candy and a lifetime of “we have to eat loads of See’s every holiday,” she managed to raise a daughter who became a chocolatier and started an entire chocolate festival.

Coincidence? I think not. 🍫🤣

So today, please help us wish a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Kathleen—my mom, my behind-the-scenes event helper, my kid wrangler, my taste tester, and the original inspiration behind this whole wonderfully chocolate-covered adventure. ❤️
