A thank-you years in the making.

A few years ago, Rod attended Recovery Happens at an important point in his life.

That day, a man Rod didn’t know came alongside him and offered a meaningful moment of support involving an eagle feather. Rod never forgot him—and he has been in recovery ever since.

This year, one of our team members recognized the man from Rod’s description and brought them back together.

His name is Art.

The hug captured in this photo was Rod finally getting the chance to thank him.

Recovery is built through moments like this: one person showing up for another, sometimes without ever knowing how much that moment will matter.

Our new New Life Discovery Project canopy made its debut at Recovery Happens, but Rod and Art gave us the moment we’ll remember.

If you or someone you love needs support, reach out to New Life Discovery Project. Recovery happens—and you don’t have to do it alone.

Sometimes the best way to serve our clients is to learn who else is ready to stand beside them.

The Salvation Army recently joined our all-staff meeting to share how its programs and resources can benefit the people we serve at New Life Discovery Project.

We also learned about opportunities for our team to give back, including bell ringing and helping with Stuff the Bus. Now we’re exploring the idea of an NLDP volunteer night—because supporting our community should occasionally come with matching aprons and a little friendly competition.

Thank you to the Salvation Army team for spending time with us and helping us better understand how we can work together.

Interested in volunteering alongside NLDP? Send us a message.

You know it was a great meeting when nobody noticed it was running long.

Yesterday, New Life Discovery Project welcomed six members of the CalWORKs Behavioral Health Team and Women’s Recovery & Resiliency Services for a site visit with four members of our team.

We started with a fun icebreaker and plenty of laughter, then settled into the kind of thoughtful conversation and collaboration that makes the time fly.

Pictured are our two icebreaker winners, representing the CalWORKs Behavioral Health Team and Women’s Recovery & Resiliency Services. Apparently, collaboration comes with prizes.

We’re already looking forward to inviting everyone back to continue the conversation and give them a full tour of New Life Discovery Project.

Follow along as we continue building partnerships that strengthen our community.

A huge day for healthcare in the North State. 💙

Today, we were honored to attend the ribbon cutting for the new Sierra Pacific Regional Cancer Center in Redding.

This incredible new facility will bring advanced cancer treatment, technology and support services together under one roof—giving patients and families throughout Northern California greater access to comprehensive cancer care closer to home.

For the people and families we serve, having world-class resources like this right here in our community matters.

Congratulations to Dignity Health, Mercy Medical Center Redding and everyone who helped make this vision a reality. We’re excited to see the impact the Sierra Pacific Regional Cancer Center will have on our community for generations to come.
