One of the things that captured my heart about Kathy was that she believed in me. Being with her brought out the best in me.
After 51 years of marriage, Iâm grateful weâre still learning, laughing, and sharing life together.
Love has to become more than a feeling. Itâs choosing to stay committed through difficult seasons, forgive one another, and work through conflict without turning against each other.
Kathy and I share some of those lessonsâand a few laughsâin our latest episode of Cultural Catalysts. If youâve watched our latest conversation, Iâd love to hear your favorite part! Let me know in the comments.
What if the wisdom God gives you becomes the reason youâre invited into the room?
In Daniel 1, the king found Daniel and his friends ten times wiser than the others he consulted. God had given them wisdom and understanding that stood out in a nation that didnât know Him.
I have a passion to see us influence nations by invitation. To live so connected to God that His wisdom becomes evident in how we work, lead, and respond to the challenges around us.
When I say the presence of God is âparked at your house,â Iâm talking about His presence being evident in your everyday life. In your family. In your workplace. In the decisions you make.
Your intelligence and abilities matter, but you also have access to the wisdom of heaven.
What might change if you invited the Holy Spirit into a situation you already know how to handle?

You can be your childâs friend, but you have to be their parent first.
Kathy and I had some laughs over this one. đ We love being friends with our kids, but when friendship comes first, it can become difficult to bring the discipline and direction they need.
Sometimes loving our children means having a conversation they donât want to have or holding a boundary they donât understand yet.
In our latest episode of Cultural Catalysts, Kathy and I share lessons from 51 years of marriage, raising children, and walking through difficult seasons together.

Most people live like a thermometer: reacting to every piece of bad news, moment of pressure, or shift in the environment. But those who learn to live like a thermostat do not allow external chaos to dictate their internal peace.
In *Just Stand*, we learn that true transformation does not come from forcing behavioral changes through willpower, but from shifting the internal beliefs and ecosystem that guide our choices.
Have you been acting like a thermometer or a thermostat?

Sometimes weâre asking God for a new word while weâre still sitting on the last thing He told us to do.
Jesus connected obedience with friendship, and friendship with revelation. He shared with His friends what He heard from the Father. There is something about intimacy with God that invites us into both knowing His heart and responding to it.
This isnât about earning His love. He already loves you. But obedience creates capacity for trust. What we do with what He reveals matters.
Before you conclude that God is silent, take a moment to ask: âLord, is there something Youâve already spoken that I still need to act on?â
Whatâs your next step of obedience?
Our own deep sense of spiritual inadequacy will not be defeated in retreat, it will only be dethroned as we press in to God and learn how to destroy the works of
the devil.
Our personal victories become our familyâs corporate covering. Every foe we defeat in our own life is one less foe they will have to face in theirs.
Whenever our children catch us having a private conversation with God in prayer, they capture a
glimpse into power of the age to come thatâs being infused into the family trust.
Point- If we hide our battles from our children, they wonât
be prepared to win theirs when they leave our home. On the other hand, inviting our kids to view our struggles in life, gives them a front roll seat to academy of future victories
What do you do when the Lego pieces you need arenât in the box? You go back to the manufacturer.
Thatâs where weâre ending this series. You can follow every instruction and still discover you donât have everything you need to build what God has called you to build. Some things can only come from Him.
Jesus said a branch cannot bear fruit by itself; it has to remain connected to the vine. (John 15:4â5)
So when you feel empty or unable, go back to your Maker. Stay connected to Jesus and receive what only He can provide.
Whatâs one thing youâre taking with you from this series?
Guilt makes you hide. Conviction makes you return.
Shame is a trap that steals your vision of the future and makes you feel insignificant. It whispers that your mistake defines who you are. But true conviction never destroys your identityâit points out that your current behavior doesn't align with your purpose.
God doesn't use shame to shape your character. He reminds you of who you are so that you can live up to it.
Which of these two voices has been guiding your journey? Leave your thoughts in the comments! đ
