Most people think estate planning is about money.
It is not.
It is about who makes decisions for your children if you cannot.
It is about whether your family spends the hardest season of their lives in a courtroom or at home, together.

We started this page with one purpose: to make protection feel accessible, clear, and personal. Not to sell. To serve.

Thank you to every family who has trusted us with what matters most. Your story is the reason we do this work.

Most people plan for the life they want.
Very few plan for the moment they can’t speak for themselves.

A Power of Attorney and a Healthcare Directive are not documents for the elderly or the wealthy.
They are for anyone with a family, a business, a bank account, or a child heading off to college.
Without them, the people you love may need a court’s permission to help you.

Swipe through five situations where having these documents in place changes everything, and ask yourself which one you’ve been putting off.

Legacy Legal Group PC helps families across California and Tennessee put clear, legally sound plans in place before they’re needed.

Most people don’t lose what they’ve built because of a bad decision.
They lose it because they never made one.

Waiting for the “right time” to create your estate plan or protect your business is a decision in itself, and it’s usually the most expensive one.
Life doesn’t send a calendar invite before things change.

This fall, put the plan in place. Your family, your assets, and your business deserve more than good intentions.

Your estate plan was written for a life you may no longer live.

Marriage. Divorce. A new child.
The loss of someone you love.
Life moves forward, and a plan that sits untouched quietly falls out of step with the people and assets it was meant to protect.

Most families don’t discover the gaps until it’s too late to fix them.
An outdated beneficiary, an untitled asset, a guardian who no longer fits. Small oversights with lasting consequences.

Swipe through the five updates we recommend after any major life change, then ask yourself when you last reviewed yours.

Most people plan for everything except the moment they can’t speak for themselves.

A Healthcare Directive is not about death. It is about control.
You decide who speaks for you and which care you accept or refuse, instead of leaving it to a hospital, a court, or a family divided at the bedside.

Without one, someone else makes those calls.
Loved ones guessing is not a plan.

Estate planning in Tennessee and California starts with a conversation.

Most people wait for January to get their affairs in order.
By then it’s already too late for the things that mattered this year.

Fall isn’t the finish line.
It’s the deadline you didn’t know you had.
Estate plans, wills, trusts, business structures.
The right things don’t start on New Year’s Day.
They start the moment you decide to stop putting them off.

If it’s been on your list, this is your sign.

Most people don’t have an estate plan.
Not because they don’t care about their family, but because “later” always feels safer than “now.”

Fall doesn’t feel that way.

The kids are back in a routine.
Work has settled into something manageable.
And somewhere between the first cool morning and the first holiday plans, most people finally feel clear on why this matters.

Here’s the truth: October turns into November turns into December faster than anyone expects. Attorney calendars fill up fast in Q4. And a complete estate plan, will, trust, POA, healthcare documents, can realistically be finished in just a few weeks.

Start now.
Be protected before the year ends.

Your will is not the last word.

Beneficiary designations override it every time-on life insurance, retirement accounts, and payable on death assets.
Most people find out too late, when the wrong person inherits.

An outdated form can undo years of careful planning in seconds.

Review your beneficiaries as often as you review your will.
It takes minutes.
The cost of skipping it lasts generations.

Most people wait until it’s too late to ask these questions.

A will and a trust are not the same thing, and choosing wrong can cost your family time, money, and privacy after you’re gone. Probate is public. Probate is slow. Probate is avoidable.

If you own property, have minor children, or simply want your estate handled on your terms, the five questions in this carousel will tell you exactly where to start.

California and Tennessee residents: your state’s rules are different, and generic advice online will not cut it. Work with someone who knows your state.
