Emma is holding a gorgeous Silkie Chicken. It is thought that Silkies originated from China. They are known for their soft silky feathers, blue cheeks, black skin and having 5 toes on each foot.

On this Yom Kippur, we wish all who observe a peaceful and meaningful fast.
The weather is changing and so must our turtle husbandry. Outdoor tortoises will need to be brought inside soon as the temperatures drop at night. Shellby enjoys her summers outdoors but will soon be brought indoors for the winter months. This is a good time to inspect their shells and weight. Tortoises should feel solid and hefty when lifted. If they feel light, then they may be underweight and this warrants a trip to the vet.

Dog Biscuits from GVH:
1. A dog's nose print is as unique as our finger prints.
2. Dogs can be right pawed or left pawed.
3. Dogs dream just like us.
4. Dogs need cardio just like us. Leash walks at our pace may not be enough.
5. Licking their feet warrants a vet visit. It could mean allergies, pain, or stress.

Pond fish need veterinary care too. As the temperatures drop, now is the time to do your fall pond clean up, purchase new fall fish food and make sure all fish look healthy before the cold weather sets it. We do phone fish consults for your convenience.

The Domestic Tabby Cat is not a breed per se. Tabby refers to the coat pattern. Almost all tabby cats have a distinct "M" shaped pattern on their foreheads. Cats wild ancestors, the African Wildcat, have a similar pattern which acts as natural camouflage for the species.
